LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tucker Carlson's embrace of fringe right-wing figures reached a startling new height this past Tuesday when he invited notorious conspiracy theorist Alex Jones to join him on stage during his speaking tour in Pennsylvania.

In front of a paying audience, Carlson lauded Jones, expressing his pride in standing alongside the founder of Infowars, stating that Jones has been “vindicated on everything.”

Tucker Carlson’s praise for Alex Jones raises eyebrows amid controversy

At 55, Tucker Carlson went so far as to call Jones “the most extraordinary person” he has ever met. This enthusiastic endorsement starkly contrasts with Carlson's previous comments in January 2012, when he expressed discomfort with Jones, who at the time was promoting conspiracy theories about the September 11 attacks, stating that Jones “freaks me out.”

Carlson's recent praise is likely to anger the families of Sandy Hook victims. In 2012, Jones infamously claimed that the tragic mass shooting, which took the lives of several young children, was a hoax staged by crisis actors.

His actions not only perpetuated these falsehoods but also incited a relentless smear campaign against the grieving parents, leading to extensive harassment during an already devastating time.

As a result of his harmful claims, Jones faces a staggering $1.4 billion in defamation judgments in Texas and Connecticut.

These legal troubles have put significant strain on Infowars, with a bankruptcy court recently announcing plans to auction off the company's assets, ranging from lighting fixtures to Jones’ controversial vitamin and supplement products. The proceeds will be directed to the families impacted by his lies.

With Infowars in decline, Jones may be finding a new avenue for his rhetoric alongside Carlson. After a previous interview in June, Jones again expressed his affection for Carlson during their recent appearance, saying, “I gotta say, I love you.”

Alex Jones rallies the crowd with fiery rhetoric against 'globalists'

During the event, Alex Jones delivered a characteristic fiery speech, asserting that if Donald Trump were to be re-elected, “all of us, together, are going to lift the curse off of this country and we’re going to send the globalists to prison.”

He noted the palpable energy in the audience, remarking, “It is amazing to meet all these great people… whether they’re Black, white, old, young, to see the electricity in people’s eyes that are populist and that are Americans and that love God and that love children and love freedom and hate tyranny.”

Carlson interjected with a hint of sarcasm, commenting, “It just makes me laugh. Alex Jones, so controversial. Love God, love America, love freedom. Oh, you’re so radical!”

Jones then resumed his tirade against “globalists,” stating, “I’m for the war, peacefully with information, against the globalists. The real war is here with the globalists and [George] Soros and [Barack] Obama and the New World Order and [investment firm] BlackRock. They’ve declared war on us and we accept the challenge. We’re taking the country back.”

Alex Jones takes center stage as audience enthusiastically responds

Reports from the event indicated that Jones merchandise, featuring his catchphrases, was more prevalent among attendees than Carlson-branded items. Another far-right activist, Jack Posobiec, also spoke but was overshadowed by Jones' dynamic presence.

According to New York magazine, Jones received a rousing welcome, with the crowd on its feet, eagerly responding to his every line.

As the evening progressed, it became clear that the stage was dominated by Jones, whose passionate rhetoric left little room for interruption. “If they want a fight,” Jones declared, rallying the audience, “You better believe they got one!”

Social media users critique Tucker Carlson's praise of Alex Jones

Social media users expressed strong skepticism regarding Tucker Carlson's praise for Alex Jones, questioning the legitimacy of labeling him as "vindicated."

One user wrote, "Isn't Jones the loser in one of the biggest class action cases in the history of the country? By what metric is anything related to this horrible human being "vindicated"? Is Tucker OK?"

Another user replied, "Alex Jones makes a bunch of stupid spaghetti on the wall "predictions" about the future, and then selectively edits those stupid predictions to make them seem like they were right later on. His audience never bothers to follow up on anything he does, so of course they eat it up. It's a con that works on stupid people."

One replied, "What do Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson and JD Vance ALL have in common? Before 2016, when Trump was running for office, they all spoke out about how corrupt Trump was. Add Sen. Lindsey and Sen, Ted Cruz onto the list."

Another person added, "Vindicated? Yesterday, the judge ruled that his items can be seized to pay for the settlement. Sounds like vindication to me!"

One said, "Tukkker has a special dispensation......... to lie for Jeezus."

Another commented, "Two known liars that admitted that that they lie for views while under oath and litterelly lost everything because of said lies now together claiming that they are vindicated is the highlight of the fall of the magat movement. It's like the cherry on top."

One added, "What A Pair Of Weirdos."
