WASHINGTON, DC: Tucker Carlson on Thursday, March 5, expressed his persistent devotion to Donald Trump, after the president removed him from the MAGA inner circle by claiming Carlson does not represent the “America first” ideology.

The former Fox News personality, while talking to Oliver Darcy, admitted to occasional friction with the president but said he will "always love him.”

Tucker Carlson responds to MAGA ousting

Following his exclusion from the movement, Carlson addressed the rift in a conversation with Status’s Oliver Darcy.

“There are times I get annoyed with Trump, right now definitely included,” Carlson stated, though he immediately reaffirmed his commitment by adding, “but I’ll always love him no matter what he says about me.”

This tension escalated after Carlson reportedly visited the White House three times in a single month to dissuade Trump from launching strikes on Iran, actions Carlson eventually described as “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

Trump declares Tucker Carlson is no longer MAGA

On Thursday, President Trump made the separation official during a statement to ABC News’s Jon Karl, remarking that “Tucker has lost his way.”

Trump dismissed Carlson's alignment with his movement, asserting, “I knew that a long time ago, and he’s not MAGA.”

Trump defined his movement’s core mission by stating, “MAGA is saving our country. MAGA is making our country great again. MAGA is America first, and it’s none of those things. And Tucker is really not smart enough to understand that.”

Earlier, Trump also applied this critique to podcaster Megyn Kelly, telling journalist Rachael Bade of 'The Inner Circle' on Monday, “I think that MAGA is Trump — MAGA’s not the other two,” and defending his military strategy as a “detour that we have to take in order to keep our country safe.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene sides with Tucker Carlson against Trump

The fallout prompted a sharp response from Marjorie Taylor Greene, who utilized her social media to side with Carlson against President Trump. “I SUPPORT TUCKER. Trump doesn’t even know what MAGA is anymore and turned it into MIGA,” Greene wrote, using the acronym to mean “Make Iran Great Again.”

She further criticized the president’s motivations, claiming, “Trump is not America First, he’s donor first.”

Greene concluded her defense of Carlson by stating, “Tucker would beat Trump if he ran for President and Trump tried to violate the Constitution and tried to run again for a third term.”
