Tucker Carlson’s son Buckley slams Ben Shapiro as 'truly repulsive' amid rising conservative clashes
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s son, Buckley Carlson, has publicly stepped into a growing feud between his father and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, defending him against Shapiro’s remarks.
The 28-year-old, who serves as deputy press secretary for Vice President JD Vance, took to social media to criticize comments made by Shapiro in a recent podcast appearance.
The exchange underscores escalating tensions within conservative political circles following Carlson’s recent clash with Shapiro at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest 2025.
Hard to fathom this is the "man" that presumes to lecture - endlessly, angrily - the "acceptable" parameters of the "conservative movement". AND, specifically to young Americans unable to survive the economy he and his friends designed and still advocate. Truly repulsive. https://t.co/3gNE9Tz2HG

Buckley Carlson’s response to Ben Shapiro
In response to Shapiro’s appearance on the 'TRIGGERnometry' podcast, which aired last month, Buckley took to X to strongly push back against his comments.
Shapiro had suggested, “If you’re a young person and you can’t afford to live here, then maybe you should not live here.”
Shapiro explained his perspective, "I know that we've now grown up in a society that says that you deserve to live where you grew up, but the reality is that the history of America is almost literally the opposite of that."

He continued, "The history of America is you go to a place where there is opportunity. And if the opportunities are limited here and they're not changing, then you really should try to think about other places where you have better opportunities."
Buckley described the remarks as "truly repulsive," writing that it was hard to "fathom this is the ‘man’ that presumes to lecture — endlessly, angrily — the ‘acceptable’ parameters of the ‘conservative movement.'"
He highlighted that Shapiro’s suggestion was directed especially toward young Americans who are "unable to survive the economy."
Buckley, addressing this, directly criticized Shapiro and his allies, arguing that their policies have made it increasingly difficult for young Americans to thrive economically.
Tucker Carlson, Ben Shapiro, and tensions in conservative circles
The conflict between Carlson and Shapiro stems from deeper disagreements that have played out publicly over recent months.
The feud intensified after Carlson invited far‑right figure Nick Fuentes on his podcast, 'The Tucker Carlson Show'. Shapiro responded harshly to that interview, dedicating an entire episode of his own show, 'The Ben Shapiro Show', to criticizing Carlson.
In the episode, he labeled Carlson an “intellectual coward,” a “dishonest interlocutor,” and a “terrible friend.”
He also accused Carlson of turning into a conspiracist and a pathological liar since leaving Fox News in 2023. The tension has become a broader split within the conservative movement, with prominent figures increasingly clashing over ideology and direction.
The former Fox News host's criticisms have included questioning US foreign policy decisions, including continued support for Israel, which further fuels disagreement with Shapiro.
Tensions became more visible during appearances at the recently held AmericaFest event, where Shapiro used his speech to attack Carlson. He noted that Charlie Kirk, founder of TPUSA, despised the "evil troll" Fuentes, whom Carlson interviewed, and said that offering him a platform was "an act of moral imbecility."
