WASHINGTON DC: Former President Donald Trump appeared in front of his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach minutes after the Supreme Court concluded its hearing on Colorado SC's decision to remove him from the ballot, citing the "insurrection clause" over his actions during January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, reported ABC News.

The Republican frontrunner, absent from the hearing in person, called it as a "very beautiful process." The Supreme Court appeared doubtful of Colorado's challenge to his presidential eligibility under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which prohibits a former President from holding office again if they have participated in insurrection or rebellion.

Addressing the media, Trump said watching the Supreme Court's oral arguments was a "beautiful process."

"I hope that democracy in this country will continue because right now we have a very tough situation with all of the radical left ideas with the weaponization of politics. They weaponize it like it's never been weaponized before," he added.

Justices throughout the Thursday, February 8 hearing had concerns about the far-reaching consequences of allowing the states to remove candidates under the 14th Amendment. And the final ruling will decide Trump's White House dreams as he closes in on the GOP presidential nomination.

Trump is confident about his legal teams work

Expressing his confidence in his legal team's work, the former President called the case "very strong" and added that the presentation at court was

"well received."

"I thought the presentation today was a very good one. I think it was well received. I hope it was well received. You have millions of people that are out there wanting to vote, and they happen to want to vote for me or the Republican Party," Trump said.

Conservative attorney Jonathan Mitchell, who is known for drafting anti-abortion laws according to The New York Times, represented the ex-president in the historic hearing.

During the arguments, Mitchell defended his client, arguing the January 6 event was a "riot" and "not an insurrection."

"The events were shameful, criminal, violent, all of those things, but did not qualify as an insurrection."

Internet reacts to Trump's remarks

Netizens mocked the former President's description of the SCOTUS's oral argument as a "beautiful process."

Many questioned if he would have the same thought if the court ruled against him or when the immunity case was heard.

One user wrote, "Unless they rule against him. Then the supreme court [sic] will be corrupt."

Another user opined, "Now he likes the constitution."

"I wonder if he’ll still think it’s a beautiful process when his next case is heard…or passed on," a response read.

A user remarked, "Wait till the next time they rule against him." Another added, "Of course, he says this, he thinks it went well for him. Wait until the immunity issue comes up?"

"It’s beautiful today but if they rule against him it will be rigged," one user said.

Another user said, "He's gonna be big mad when he finds out he doesn't have immunity."
