New disturbing details have emerged in the tragic case of a 17-year-old Indiana girl who vanished in June.

Patrick Scott, 59, was arrested on November 28 in connection to the disappearance and death of his neighbor, Valerie Tindall.

Court documents reveal that Scott, who employed Valerie in his landscaping company, confessed to strangling the teen with his belt.

He allegedly claimed she "came on to him" and began removing her clothes before he killed her.

After murdering Valerie, Scott purchased materials to construct homemade boxes.

He admitted to police that he buried Valerie's body as well as a second box containing tapes and paperwork in holes on his Rush County property.

Cadaver dogs and aerial surveillance previously indicated possible human remains on Scott's land.

Investigators uncovered two boxes matching Scott's descriptions.

One contained a body with orange nail polish identical to Valerie's last social media post from June 7, the day she went missing after telling her parents she was working for Scott.

In custody, Scott wove an evolving narrative about Valerie's murder. He claimed it "just kind of happened" and that his wife and daughter were unaware.

Although he expressed nominal regret about the killing, he also asserted that Valerie provoked him by allegedly trying to blackmail him for a car while "coming on to him."

Additionally, Scott gave Valerie's frantic parents inconsistent accounts of when he last saw their daughter.

He also falsely offered them assistance in the aftermath of her disappearance, according to local reporting.

Investigators note that Scott's stories fail to line up. Valerie's phone last pinged near his property after she arrived for her landscaping shift.

Yet Scott claimed they went shopping and dining - activities unnecessary for her work duties. He also disturbingly referred to the murder as "it" rather than acknowledging Valerie's humanity.

Patrick Scott faces charges of murder, obstruction and false informing

Scott faces charges of murder, obstruction and false informing in Rush County Circuit Court. He remains jailed without bond as the case continues.

While Tindall's loved ones long for closure, Rush County Sheriff Allan Rice stresses that the investigation remains active.

Questions linger about Scott's motives and whether others abetted his alleged crimes.

Authorities plan to seek full justice for 17-year-old Valerie, whose bright future was cut short by shocking violence.

"This is not the outcome we had all hoped for, but I want to stress to the public that this case is far from over, justice will be sought," says Sheriff Rice.
