WASHINGTON, DC: In a twist of political intrigue, an anonymous document titled "Unburdened by What Has Been: The Case for Kamala" has been making rounds in Democratic circles, according to The New Republic.

The memo comes as some Democratic donors and top leaders speculate about the future of President Joe Biden's 2024 reelection bid.

"We have one goal: defeat Trump. Like it or not, we have one realistic path: Kamala," read the subheading of the document.

Anonymous memo in favor of Kamala Harris touts her as the only viable option to succeed Joe Biden

The memo, named after a phrase frequently used by Vice President Kamala Harris, delved into the potential benefits and drawbacks of her replacing Biden on the Democratic ticket.

It treated Biden’s departure as a near certainty and acknowledged Harris’ low approval ratings, proclivity for awkward gaffes, and her unpopularity as the face of the administration's immigration policies.

Despite these challenges, the memo highlighted Harris's "massive structural advantages," including her current position on the ticket and the potential to garner support from "younger/POC voters" on critical issues like abortion, jobs, climate change, and LGBTQ+ rights.

The document is seemingly penned by anonymous individuals who describe themselves as "senior operatives within Democratic political institutions" and claim they will not publicly take a stance on this issue.

The memo serves as a strategic guide for those who share the authors' views, urging them to "make noise in support of this basic premise: Kamala is the only viable option to succeed Biden, and if she gets the nomination, she can win."

CNN reports that while the authors remain unidentified, the document has been widely circulated among Democratic donors and leading coalition groups via group chats.

"Running as a Presidential candidate will allow Harris to present herself in a more commanding light. She’ll be a prosecutor going up against a convicted felon; a woman fighting against the man who ended Roe v Wade. The headlines write themselves," suggested the document, countering the prevalent skepticism about Harris.

The memo emphasized that the argument is not about whether Harris deserves the nomination but about strategy and the high stakes of the upcoming election. It noted, "The anti-Trump coalition cannot afford to discount the strengths of the nominated Democratic running mate and current vice president. She’s not the best option—she’s the only realistic option to win."

Kamala Harris faces ridicule in wake of the anonymous memo circulating among Democrats

The news of the memo quickly led to a wave of online trolling aimed at Vice President Harris.

One Facebook user said, "Harris will lose by an even larger margin than Biden. Democrats definitely need to let Biden know he is out. He lost the election with his debate disaster. Nothing can fix that. But Harris is not the answer."

Another remarked, "Only democrats would pick a worse candidate as a replacement," and someone else added, "Moving to someone with a worse approval rating."

A person mentioned, "Nobody is moving to harris not even harris LOL."

"Useless and clueless," declared one more, whereas another person commented, "The laughing and giggles meat head!"

"She is the most annoying politician ever and there was a reason that she was eliminated from the 2020 presidential race early," expressed a netizen and an individual stated, "She’d make a lousy president, God help us."
