ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Kamala Harris hosted a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, October 19, attracting support from prominent figures in the music industry, including Usher, as per The Hill.

While the event was meant to energize Harris’ campaign and mobilize voters, it also sparked an intense backlash, with Usher becoming the target of criticism online due to his long-standing ties with music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently facing serious legal charges.

Usher's support for Vice President Kamala Harris quickly turned into a heated debate on social media, with MAGA followers scrutinizing his past associations.

Usher, one of the most recognized figures in R&B, took the stage at the Atlanta rally to show his support for Kamala Harris.

During the event, he rallied the crowd by singing the iconic sports anthem 'We Ready' by Archie Eversole.

It wasn't just Usher's musical performance that drew attention—his vocal endorsement of Kamala Harris' presidential ambitions quickly thrust him into the political spotlight.

"I'm supporting Kamala Harris because she fights for everyone's rights and freedom," Usher declared, addressing the energetic crowd.

He emphasized Harris' inclusive vision for America, stating, "It doesn't matter where you come from. She has a vision for our country that includes everyone, a vision that supports small businesses, invests in our health, in our communities, and gives everyone a chance to get ahead."

Usher added, "We have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leadership for our country."

As the rally gained traction online, attention shifted from Usher's message to his past connections with Diddy, with some fixating on these ties instead.

Earlier in the day, Harris had attended a rally in Detroit with local native Lizzo, where the Grammy-winning singer took a swipe at Donald Trump’s recent disparaging remarks about the city.

Trump had mocked Detroit in a speech, suggesting the city represented the future of America if Harris were to win the White House. Lizzo, standing proudly with her hometown, fired back.

“They say that if Kamala wins, the whole country will be like Detroit. Proud like Detroit. Resilient like Detroit," she said. "We’re talking about the same Detroit that innovated the auto industry and the music industry, so put some respect on Detroit’s name."

While Usher’s endorsement of Harris should have been a celebratory moment, his association with Diddy quickly became the focal point of critics, particularly within MAGA circles.

Diddy, once a towering figure in the music industry, is currently facing allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking, charges that have shaken the industry.

Usher’s close relationship with Diddy traces back to his teenage years, when, at just 13, Diddy became his legal guardian, guiding him through the early stages of his career, according to Newsweek.

Diddy helped produce Usher's self-titled debut album in 1994, marking the beginning of a mentorship that would shape the singer's career.
