WASHINGTON, DC: An old video of ‘Morning Joe’ co-host Mika Brzezinski flirting with Donald Trump has resurfaced, showing their once close relationship.

Brzezinski and her husband Joe Scarborough were close pals of the Republican leader before their relationship went sour. However, the trio have again been in the news following the pair’s visit to Mar-a-Lago last week.

The president-elect was friends with Brzezinski and Scarborough, and footage from 2010 shows the warm welcome he received from the MSNBC pundits as he visited the ‘Morning Joe’ set, as reported by Daily Mail.

Donald Trump called Mika Brzezinski ‘beautiful’

The old video shows Brzezinski hugging Trump before saying, “Watch your head. You're very tall!”

Her 61-year-old husband, a former politician, then asked Trump: “Is Mika Brzezinski not as beautiful today as the first time you called into our show in 2007 and embarrassed her?”

The 78-year-old politician then said, “I didn't embarrass her. I thought she was very beautiful and I watched the show because of her beauty, not because of any politics or anything... Yes, she's gotten more beautiful.”

The old clip also showed the 57-year-old Brzezinski sweetly fixing Trump’s hair as he asked her, “Does it feel good?”

To which, she replied, “Yeah. It's all there.”

Brzezinski and Scarborough once again change their stance on Trump

The footage has re-emerged amid Brzezinski and Scarborough receiving backlash from both conservative and liberal media figures following their meeting with Trump after his 2024 election win.

They had been the MAGA spearhead’s staunch critics for several years after he became the president in 2017, even comparing him to "Hitler".

Brzezinski had once thrashed Trump's rally as she said, "It’s discouraging that so many people would gather and rally to hate—to hate speech—in America."

"It’s not just, ‘Oh my gosh’ about the race, it’s ‘Oh my gosh—how did we get here?' How did we get here, where a stadium of people come to hate? That’s a different country, a different time," she asserted, as per The Daily Beast.

However, they now seemed to have softened their stance against the president-elect.

About their November 15 visit, Scarborough said, “It’s going to come as no surprise to anybody who watches this show, has watched it over the past year or over the past decade that we didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of issues and we told him so.”

“He seemed interested in finding common ground with Democrats on some of the most divisive issues, and for those asking why we would go speak to the president-elect during such fraught times—especially between us—I guess I would ask back, why wouldn’t we?” his wife added.

Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough called ‘grifters’

However, Brzezinski and Scarborough were slammed by many, including former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who said, “Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough tore me up when I said anything about voting for Donald Trump or what I agreed with him on, even though I criticized him when I thought he was wrong. I praised him when I thought he was good. They tore me up.”

Also, conservative media personality Megyn Kelly added, “They’re grifters. These two, yes, worked day and night to try to get Trump the nomination back in ’15,’16. They embarrassed themselves and sacrificed any pretense of journalistic ethics in doing it. It was true bootlicking.”

“To political reporters, commentators, liberals, moderates: After this fawning, humiliating, network-destroying surrender, if you go on @Morning_Joe you have endorsed and bought into #VichyMSNBC,” political commentator Keith Olbermann shared on X.

Netizens say Brzezinski once ‘loved’ Trump

Meanwhile, many people have reacted to the resurfaced video.

An X user tweeted, “Mika Brzezinski from MSNBC's ‘Morning Joe’ was once visibly fond of Donald Trump, even playfully running her fingers through his hair. Later on she compared him to Hitler. And now, after seven years of estrangement, apparently he's no longer Hitler…”

Another user posted, “Mika fell in love with Trump back in the day 😂.”

“Mika never matured intellectually beyond mean girl high school politics,” a tweet read.

Another tweet was “You ever wonder about… well… everything? Most People have no clue Mika Brzezinski absolutely adored and loved her some Donald Trump… until he became President. And that is terrifying…”

An individual shared, “Funny how they loved Trump when he was just a billionaire, but once he was President, they couldn’t handle the truth.”

The second one added, “Trump used to be on their show almost everyday in 2015 and 2016. It wasn't until they deemed him as an actual threat to the establishment that they cut him off. Then they called him Hitler and now they are bragging about being in contact with him again.”

An user commented, “It's a stark reminder of how political allegiances can shift. Mika's previous admiration for Trump highlights the often surprising and complex nature of political relationships.”
