NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' panel made fun of former president Donald Trump's self-named speech tactic, "the weave."

During a recent campaign speech in Pennsylvania, Trump explained that his unique style involves touching on various topics at once, tying them all together in a way he described as "brilliant."

In his speech, Donald Trump asserted that his speaking style, which he calls "the weave" is often misunderstood.

“Friends of mine that are English professors, they say, it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen. But the fake news, you know what they say? He rambled," he said.

“It’s not rambling,” he refuted, defending his method as intentional rather than disorganized, according to The Independent.

After the clip from Donald Trump's speech was aired, the 'Morning Joe' co-host Joe Scarborough, chuckled, stating, "That is Donald Trump in front of a crowd in Pennsylvania, rambling incoherently. Part of a brilliant strategy he calls ‘the weave.’"

Adding to the comment, Willie Geist humorously said, "I like how he sort of lays it out like it’s from ‘A Beautiful Mind.’ He’s seeing what the rest of us don’t see. All moving together."

Scarborough and Geist continued to mock Trump's claim of surrounding himself with English professors from esteemed institutions, with Scarborough commenting, "Well, I mean, it only makes sense. His great, great uncle went to M.I.T."

Geist then compared the former president's tactic to someone tripping on the street and insisting, "I meant to do that."

'Morning Joe' panel's stand-up comedy analogy

Panelist Jonathan Lemire suggested that Donald Trump's explanation of "the weave" tactic is a way of justifying his style of speech, similar to a stand-up comedian delivering a multi-part act, tying the punchline back to their earlier jokes.

"He projects and tries to explain it away to a crowd who doesn’t know what he is talking about," said Lemire.

"He is undoubtedly watching right now, angry we’re talking about ‘the weave,’" he remarked.

However, Scarborough disagreed, suggesting that the Republican presidential nominee likely enjoyed the attention of his speaking style.

"Donald Trump doesn’t hate that we’re talking about ‘the weave,’" said Scarborough.

"He loves that we’re talking … Because it, of course, underlines his theory that everything is together," he added.

As the talk show segment wrapped up, co-host Mika Brzezinski chimed in and expressed skepticism about the 78-year-old politician's method.

"I’m still waiting for it," quipped Brzezinski and hinted that the supposed brilliance of "the weave" remains to be evident.
