NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joe Scarborough provided a stark critique of Donald Trump's latest strategy against Vice President Kamala Harris.

On a recent episode of 'Morning Joe' on MSNBC, host Scarborough stated that the former president's team is not focused on boosting his popularity but rather on diminishing Harris' favorability.

Donald Trump's attacks on Kamala Harris

Joe Scarborough highlighted Donald Trump's ongoing attacks on Kamala Harris, describing them as an effort to shift public opinion by fostering negativity towards the vice president.

He argued that the Trump campaign's tactics are rooted in "outrageous claims" and a broader strategy aimed at creating animosity rather than winning over voters.

"They can’t make people like Donald Trump. So their goal is to make people hate Kamala Harris," said Scarborough.

In his analysis, Scarborough highlighted the significant gap in favorability ratings between Trump and Harris.

While the 78-year-old politician's favorability is reportedly down by nearly 20 points, Harris is polling more favorably, with a slight lead of 46% favorable to 43% unfavorable, according to Mediaite.

Scarborough suggested that this discrepancy is a major driving force behind the Trump campaign’s aggressive approach.

Donald Trump's flip-flopping on key issues

Joe Scarborough criticized Donald Trump for his inconsistency on key issues such as abortion and immigration.

He noted that the Republican presidential nominee’s recent policy shifts, including a surprising call for more immigrants in the United States, indicate a campaign that is “disconnected from the truth.”

The television host described these moves as desperate attempts to distract voters from Trump's own unfavorable ratings.

Describing the Trump campaign's actions as a sign of desperation, Scarborough stated that their strategy is focused on vilifying Harris to compensate for Trump’s own lack of likability.

“The campaign has said internally they know they can never bring — they can’t make people like Donald Trump. So their goal is to make people hate Kamala Harris. And that’s where we are," he told co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Internet doubles down on Joe Scarborough's criticism of Donald Trump

As Joe Scarborough criticized Donald Trump's campaign strategy to diminish Kamala Harris' favorability, netizens doubled down on the 'Morning Joe' host's opinion.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "The problem with attacking Kamala on race and gender is that it backfires and doesn't gain them any votes. Team Maga should keep it up."

Another tweeted, "People don’t hate Kamala…they know she is just the puppet, same as Biden Democrats whole campaign is built on their hate for Trump, it’s all they got."

"Please, I understand all of this however that was then, and this is now. HarrisWalz is going FORWARD. Joe Scarborough is calling them out NOW. This is what is important, imo. Let's forget the past. That's Trump's plan," a netizen commented.

Someone else remarked, "Only problem with Joe Scarborough’s thesis is that Harris has/had the lowest approval rating of any VP in history."

"You go Joe Scarborough @JoeNBC Yes Kamala will win. America agrees and confirms: you can take that to the bank #WeAreNotGoingBackEver," an individual penned, while another opined, "Joe Scarborough is a puppet, he says what he is told to say."
