NAPLES, FLORIDA: A supporter of former president Donald Trump paid no heed to the furious Hurricane Milton as he defied the storm and planted a Trump flag on a Florida pier.

Videos of the man's reckless attempt, risking his own life to show support for the real estate mogul, were widely shared on social media.

Category 3 Hurricane Milton made its landfall in the Sunshine State on Wednesday, October 9, with winds over the speed of 100 mph.

Neither the roaring winds exceeding 100 mph nor the incessant rains discouraged the man who was seen climbing the pier and ferociously trying to fix the flag onto the pier in Naples, according to The Mirror US.

The dark blue flag read "PRESIDENT TRUMP." Beneath him, the disturned sea battled the waves against the strong winds. Despite the life-threatening condition, the man successfully attached the flag that fluttered in the powerful winds; however, it is uncertain how long it remained on the pier.

Hurricane Milton first hit Florida's Siesta Key area, subsiding after initially being a category 5 storm. The storm surge rose to 12 feet. The storm caused catastrophes in Sarasota, St Petersburg, and Tampa Bay due to 120 mph winds and rain, sending around 3 million out of power.

Ahead of the storm's landfall on the East Coast, President Joe Biden described it as the "storm of the century." The Tampa Bay area witnessed the downpour qualified as a 1-in-1,000-year rain event.

"We will better understand the extent of the damage as the day progresses. We've got more to do, but we will absolutely get through this," Gov Ron DeSantis said on Thursday, October 10.

This is the second storm to destroy Florida in less than two weeks after Category 4 Hurricane Helene.
