MARIETTA, GEORGIA: An unexpected moment stole the spotlight during President Donald Trump's rally in Georgia on Wednesday, July 22, when a man standing behind him appeared to mimic the president's signature hand gestures while echoing part of his speech.

The amusing exchange unfolded as Trump addressed people at Wheeler High School while highlighting new investments coming to the state.

The man appeared to mirror Trump's movements almost in sync, making the background moment stand out even as the president continued speaking about jobs, investment, and his new Trump Accounts initiative.

During his remarks, Trump highlighted several Japan-backed investments planned for Georgia.

"Japan is investing $600 million in a cutting edge diamond process facility as you probably read this morning in your state," Trump said. "Yamaha Motors is building its brand new US headquarters in Kennesaw."

The president then praised what he described as record investment in the United States.

"And more money is being invested in the United States right now than at any time in the history of our country and Americans are working today more so than ever before," Trump told the crowd.

As he spoke, the man behind him appeared to imitate the president's hand movements while repeating part of his remarks, saying, "than at any time in the history of our country."

Trump continued, "We have more jobs today than we've ever had and it's not even close. More people are working now than at any time in the history of our country."

Moments later, as supporters applauded, the same man stood up and held a sign promoting TrumpAccounts.Gov, drawing even more attention to his presence behind the president.

Trump promotes Trump Accounts in Georgia

The Georgia rally also served as a platform for Trump to promote Trump Accounts, an investment program that provides $1,000 in seed money for every child born during his second term.

The initiative was one of the main focuses of the president's speech as he encouraged families to take advantage of the new accounts.

However, not every family has had a smooth experience signing up.

According to the Associated Press, Masaki and Kristina McLellan of Bergen County, New Jersey, said they initially hesitated to enroll their daughter, Maya, because they feared the program was more of a promotional effort tied to Trump.

They ultimately decided to apply because of the $1,000 benefit.

Masaki submitted the application on July 6, but the account was initially rejected before being activated after he contacted the Trump Accounts hotline. He was first told the deposit would arrive within 10 days but later learned the process could take as long as four weeks.

Treasury addresses Trump Accounts application delays

While the McLellans experienced delays, the Treasury Department said their case does not reflect the experience of most applicants.

According to the department, only a small percentage of families signing up for Trump Accounts require customer support before their applications are completed.
