DENVER, COLORADO: Denver police have arrested a suspect in connection to stabbing homicides near Regis University. 

Vinchenzo Moscoso, 29, was arrested, on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder in connection to two fatal stabbings on Federal Boulevard in Denver. Moscoso was out on parole in connection to a separate crime, 9 News reports. 

Who were Vinchenzo Moscoso's victims? 

Moscoso initially stabbed a passenger on an RTD bus to death, CBS reports. The first victim was Fidel Sanchez-Banuelos, 51. According to Sanchez-Banuelos's obituary, he was the father of three daughters.

The second stabbing happened about four hours later at West 50th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. Moscoso attacked and killed Judy Corcoran, 83, as she sat on a bench.

The murders appeared to be random and unprovoked according. The incident near Regis University prompted a lock-down order from school officials, that was lifted hours later.

Moscoso was arrested and now faces two counts of first-degree murder.  He's currently being held in the Denver County Detention Center. 

At the time of the incident the accused allegedly had blood on his hands and officers found a bloody knife in his pocket.

The victim an elderly woman, was found dead on the scene due to stabs to the neck. A witness claimed Moscoso had been standing near the body. However, the motives for these homicides remain under investigation.

Moscoso has a long criminal history, with at least 14 complaints brought against him since 2012.

Having entered a guilty plea to a felony charge of aggravated robbery in 2019, he was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections.

Twelve accusations were initially filed in the case, including six counts of robbery, theft, tampering with evidence, menacing with a firearm, and aiding a juvenile in delinquency. Eleven accusations were, however, withdrawn.
