WASHINGTON, DC: Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to speculate who could replace incumbent Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee for the upcoming general election, on Tuesday, June 2.

While the GOP had long questioned Biden's mental acuity and claimed he was unfit for a second term, Democrats had a similar realization on June 27 after the first presidential debate.

In a closely moderated debate at CNN's Atlanta studio against presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, Biden mumbled through the night in a barely discernible voice, occasionally losing his train of thought on stage and struggling to complete sentences.

The performance of the presumptive Democratic nominee shocked his party and supporters, prompting calls for him to exit the race.

Vivek Ramaswamy's tweet on Biden's possible replacement

"There are realistically only two choices for who can take Biden’s place, if you understand the psychology of the modern left: Kamala Harris & Michelle Obama," the biotech entrepreneur wrote in his post on X on Tuesday.

"Democrats knew full well that Biden may not make it to the end of his first term when they nominated him in 2020, yet they *still* picked a wildly unpopular, egregiously unqualified VP for exactly one reason: she was a 'woman of color.'"

"If identity politics was their rationale back then, it’s their albatross now: they simply *can’t* pass over Kamala, or else they would admit they were wrong to prioritize identity politics over merit (which they obviously can’t do), so doubling down is their only option," asserted the conservative political influencer.

"This is about as crazy for me to say today as it was for me to repeatedly predict in early 2023 that Biden wouldn’t be the nominee. Let’s see what happens," he concluded.

Internet agrees with Vivek Ramaswamy

In response to Ramaswamy's tweet, a user wrote on X, "They knew. They didn’t care. Kamala Harris is what Democrats DESERVE, even if the rest of us don’t. We’ve paid a high price for Democrats to ‘feel good’ about themselves."

"DEI is an albatross that they so richly deserve," stated another.

"The DEI hire becoming their undoing is somehow poetic," exclaimed a user.

"It should be entertaining to watch," quipped one more user.

"The Democrats will never be unburdened by what has been," noted a user.
