ARLINGTON, TEXAS: CNN presenter Jim Acosta has questioned Donald Trump's intentions over his visit to Arlington National Cemetery to mark the Afghanistan withdrawal anniversary.

On Monday, August 26, the former president was joined by family members of some of the 13 US service members who were killed in a bombing at Abbey Gate during the chaotic withdrawal in 2021.

Donald Trump participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Acosta, on his show, asked Colorado's Sixth Congressional District Representative Jason Crow (D) if Trump was using his visit to Arlington to benefit his presidential run, “Is he politicizing these soldiers’ deaths? Should even be at Arlington National Cemetery if he’s going to make some politics out of this?”

The host emphasized Trump’s comments calling fallen soldiers “suckers” and “losers,” the remarks which were confirmed by his former chief of staff John Kelly, according to Mediaite.

He also reminded former president’s most recent remark that the civilian Medal of Freedom was “better than the Medal of Honor.”

Internet schools Jim Acosta saying Donald Trump 'cares' about fallen soldier, unlike Joe Biden

A user commented on X, "Someone should tell Jim that the families asked for President Trump to attend."

"Acosta that is almost as disgusting as POTUS outright disrespecting the fallen soldiers upon their return to US soil. Trump is honoring the fallen, something Biden should be doing, he's responsible for their deaths. Where is Biden? The beach!" slammed another individual.



 

One opined, "Perhaps the story is. Trump cares - Biden Harris do not. Biden Harris s*rewed up and are ashamed to be there. Biden Harris don’t think these 13 members of our Armed Services deserve their attention and respect."

"Folks need to stop giving credence to opinions. Does Jim Acosta really matter?" another trolled the journalist. Someone else shared, "Really?? By showing respect for their sacrifice?? That should NEVER HAVE HAPPENED? He should seek help 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️."

"Well Acosta is likely correct. These deaths quickly became yesterday’s news to the Biden administration and Trump wanted to make sure they were remembered for their service to country and the sacrifices they made.
