SHANKSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA: Former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump has faced ridicule after signing an autograph on a baby’s shirt during a visit to a volunteer fire department in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on September 11.

The footage quickly went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, as critics highlighted the infant’s visible distress and discomfort while Donald Trump signed their onesie.

In contrast to this recent incident, Trump also participated in 9/11 anniversary events where he briefly shook hands with Vice President Kamala Harris before a memorial service at Ground Zero in New York City.

Footage from that appearance captures Trump mouthing “You did a good job” to Harris, who is speculated to have won their first presidential debate.

President Joe Biden was present alongside Harris and Trump's running mate JD Vance as names of the September 11 victims were read aloud, with FDNY and NYPD officers in dress uniforms honoring those who lost their lives.

Donald Trump's latest baby autograph incident mirrors April's pink bonnet signing gaffe

However, this isn't the first time Donald Trump has had an awkward encounter involving a fan's baby. In April, he was seen signing a small pink baby bonnet at one of his rallies after being asked to "sign my baby's forehead," with other attendees urging him to "sign the baby!"

Microphones picked up snippets of the interaction between Trump and the crowd, showing that he seemed to be signing a small pink baby bonnet rather than the child itself.
