LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jack Black’s endorsement of Joe Biden has received a lot of backlash online.

The 54-year-old comedian joined Jimmy Kimmel, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts for a star-studded fundraiser for Biden, which was also attended by Jill Biden, Barbra Streisand, Jason Bateman, and Kathryn Hahn, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

During the Saturday, June 15 event, Black took the stage in a colorful outfit, which he labeled “kick-a*s American flag overalls.” He began, “A few days ago, my manager called me and said George Clooney and Julia Roberts wanted me to help out the president and speak here tonight. I said, ‘I am in. When and where?’”

He further explained how his manager listed numerous important events he had rejected, such as “emcee at the Fliegelman bat mitzvah, the opening of the new Jack in the Box in Oxnard, and judge at the second annual Imperial Valley Avocado Festival."

The Grammy Award winner further mentioned, “I said, ‘I know I turned them down, but my president needs me.’ And then they hit me with the big one. They said, ‘Jack, you can’t go. You have nothing to wear. Your good suit is in the cleaners.’ Well, were they wrong? Because I had this to wear, my kick-a*s American flag overalls — the most patriotic outfit of all times.”

“And when the president wins in November — yeah! — I’m pretty sure I’m going to get a sweet shout-out in his victory speech for what I gave up to be here. Because when democracy is at stake, Jack Black answers the call. Mr President, you’re welcome,” Black added.

Internet slams Jack Black’s speech at Biden fundraiser

However, his speech did not seem to attract much attention online, as one user tweeted on X, “If you paid actors enough, they will act.”

Another user remarked, “What a loser.”

“This one pains me. Jack Black is a great comedian, so I deeply hope he was compensated for this. Still make him a sellout, but it’s better than the alternative,” one more user noted. [sic]

A user claimed, “They say anything for money.”

“Oh, so Jack Black is compromised too. Not surprised,” another remarked.

“The cringe and second-hand embarrassment is off the charts. This is what it looks like to sell your soul,” a critic mentioned.

Another added, “Sellout actors/actresses who work for the system that pays them and gave them the roles. They all do/say what they are told to do/say, just like roles in the movies. They all lack the sense of Patriotism and Nationalism!” [sic]

A reader below an article reportedly commented, “None of these extremely overpaid actors care about high-priced gas and groceries. They don’t live in the real world like the rest of us. So of course they will continue voting in liberal politicians because it benefits their lifestyle.”

“Well there goes another Hollywood elite losing support for their career.  I guess the ‘stars’ all have enough money for the Bidenomics not to affect their lifestyle.  They don't have to worry about the little people having enough to get by.  I hope they have invested well,” a user added.
