WASHINGTON, DC: Independent presidential contender Robert F Kennedy Jr said he is not worried about the possibility of dying if he were to win the November election, ignoring hypothetical threats by government agencies, including the CIA, reported The Hill.

The remarks came during a conversation on Chris Cuomo's show on NewsNation on Wednesday, March 27, while answering a listener's question about the likely threats to his life for fighting against powerful private and public institutions.

"You're going after some of the largest entities that exist: Big pharma. Big agra. Big government. The CIA. The FBI," the listener named Will, a Kennedy supporter, said.

"We elect you, right. Are you going to live? Are they going to come after you?" the listener asked.

"That's not something, Will, that I worry about. I'm not stupid about it," Kennedy dismissed the concerns, adding, "The White House has denied me Secret Service protection, but I do take precautions, and I have a very good security firm."

Kennedy, the son of former US Attorney General and Senator Robert F Kennedy and nephew of former President John F Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated, requested Secret Service protection multiple times, but the White House denied all.

RFK Jr upheld his family's sacrifices

Downplaying the possible threats, Kennedy said there were "a lot worse things than dying," emphasizing the great sacrifices of his Democratic family.

"I was raised in a family where we were taught number one, there's a lot worse things than dying. One of those things is living like a slave or having our children lose all their freedoms that so many generations of Americans died to give us and to protect," he said.

"We need to make sacrifices for our country," the White House hopeful added.

In a radio interview in May 2023, Kennedy backed a conspiracy theory about the CIA's involvement in the assassination of his uncle, the former president, in 1963.

"There is overwhelming evidence that the CIA was involved in his murder. I think it's beyond a reasonable doubt at this point," he claimed, according to The Hill.

Kennedy, who picked California lawyer Nicole Shanahan as his running mate, will face the leading candidates, former President Donald Trump, the GOP presumptive nominee, and President Joe Biden, who seeks re-election from the Democratic Party.
