WASHINGTON, DC: In an interview published on Wednesday, April 23, former governor of New Jersey Chris Christie stated about former President Donald Trump's planned 'vendetta tour' and if he is elected to a second term in office, it is a 'scary thing' for the country, according to The Hill.

Christie, a former Republican presidential primary opponent who supported Trump in 2016 but challenged him in 2024, stated that his greatest concern is that Trump would pursue his adversaries from the White House and that no one will be able to stop him.

Christie said in an interview with The Washington Post, "There’ll be no one around to put guardrails up, and he will be on the vendetta tour against all enemies that he perceives. And that’s a scary thing for the country."

However, Christie declared that he would not be supporting President Biden in November, despite his sentiments about Trump. He said, "I don’t think so, no. President Biden, in my view, is past the sell-by date. Seriously, look at him. If the American people are stupid enough to nominate these two guys, doesn’t mean I have to be stupid too."

Moreover, he added that Biden had not contacted him to ask for his backing. He said, "It’s pretty stupid for him not to." Notably, Christie, who ran as the most vocal opponent of Trump in the GOP primary, announced his withdrawal from the presidential race in January.

The former governor of New Jersey was considering a third-party candidacy with the progressive ballot-access group 'No Labels', but he ultimately turned it down because he did not find a way to proceed.

He said, "Nobody that we put up, including me, got higher than 17 percent. So what happens is [voters] love the idea of someone other than Trump or Biden, but then once you [put forward an alternative], they don’t want to hear it. We looked at it pretty closely. There was no path to winning."

Internet slams Chris Christie for his statement

Many people on the internet took jibes at Chris Christie as he stated if Donald Trump is elected to a second term in office, it would be a 'scary thing' for the country.

A user posted on X, "He said his revenge will be his success!! He isn't going to stoop to Democrats level. CC a notorious liar," whereas one added, "Chris Christie at a buffet is a scary thing for the US."

A user added, "Pathetic when your entire state hates you and you’re only publicity is when you talk about a guy who isn’t president anymore," whereas one mentioned, "Chris Christie can't really run anywhere, so I'd be worried if I were him."

A person also wrote, "The only thing he fears is famine," while one said, "He's admitting there would be a valid reason for a vendetta?"
