Yuping Jiao: Utah massage parlor worker brutally stabbed to death at spa in ‘tragic homicide’
MIDVALE, UTAH: Utah police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman who was killed on January 4, 2023, in the massage parlor where she worked as an employee.
Yuping Jiao, 45, was reportedly working alone when she was attacked at A+ Massage in the Salt Lake City suburb of Midvale.

Officers were called to A+ Massage in Salt Lake City on January 4 in the suburb of Midvale, where they found a deceased woman, whom they described as a victim of a “brutal and tragic homicide,” as per the Unified Police Department's statement shared on Facebook.
The victim was a Chinese immigrant and massage therapist at the parlor, reports TV Fox13 NOW.
According to reports, police said that Jiao was “brutally attacked and stabbed multiple times,” and authorities believe it happened between the hours of 1 pm and 7.30 pm.
Police said in a statement to KSL-TV that the victim was working alone at the time of the killing and a motive for the violence remains unclear.
It said in a statement, “The circumstances surrounding this heinous crime are deeply concerning,” KSL-TV reports.
Police look for suspect in Yuping Jiao death
No arrests have been made and police are asking the public for tips that may assist in the investigation.
With no known suspects and no known motive, police issued a warning to massage spas in the vicinity.
As per WPDE, "In light of this disturbing incident, we urge individuals working in similar occupations to exercise extreme caution when dealing with clients and report any suspicious interactions, whether past or current, to the local authorities," police said. "Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining community safety."
