WASHINGTON, DC: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gifted Donald Trump with a golf putter from a Ukrainian soldier who lost his right leg in a battle.

Zelensky presented the POTUS with the club, which was engraved with the phrase "Let’s putt peace together!" in the Oval Office on Monday, August 18, on behalf of Junior Sgt Kostyantyn Kartavtsev, according to the New York Post.

Kostyantyn Kartavsev is a participant in the Ukrainian Golf Federation’s United By Golf program, which helps rehabilitate wounded soldiers.

United By Golf mentioned in a published statement, "This is a gift from a man who knows the true price of peace. Like all those on the frontlines today, he continues to defend our freedom."

"The veteran community of the United By Golf club thanks Donald Trump for his leadership on the path to peace for Ukraine and his kind words to our brother-in-arms," the group added.

Moreover, Zelensky showed Trump a video of Sgt Kartavsev playing golf.

Kartavtsev said in a video message shown to Trump by the Ukrainian president, "I am one of those soldiers you have spoken about — they’re courageous, they are good soldiers. I lost a leg rescuing my fellow men, and am recovering here with golf."

In a video shared by the White House, the POTUS praised the Ukrainian soldier and said, "I know a lot about golf, and your swing is great."
