Jack White roasts Trump's WH 'gold-leafed' decor, compares it to a wrestler's 'gaudy' dressing room
WASHINGTON, DC: Rock musician Jack White took a dig at President Donald Trump following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the way he has transformed the “historic” White House.
The POTUS met with the Ukrainian leader in the White House on Monday, August 18, making it their second meeting in 2025, as their earlier one in February did not end as expected.

Jack White slams Donald Trump for his 'disgusting taste'
The Grammy-winner posted a photo on his Instagram on Monday night that featured Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump sitting in the Oval Office, surrounded by gold-framed paintings, gold trinkets, and trophies.
He wrote in the caption, "Look at how disgusting trump has transformed the historic White House. It's now a vulgar, gold leafed and gaudy, professional wrestler's dressing room."
"Can't wait for the UFC match on the front lawn too, he's almost fully achieved the movie 'Idiocracy,'" the White Stripes lead singer added.
He further said, "Look at his disgusting taste, would you even buy a used car from this conman, let alone give him the nuclear codes? A gold plated trump bible would look perfect up on that mantle with a pair of trump shoes on either side wouldn't it?"
"What an embarrassment to American history," White said.
However, he made sure to praise Zelensky as he ended the caption stating, "Also pictured in this photograph, a REAL leader of a nation in a black suit."
Trump's makeover of the White House includes replacing the lawn in the Rose Garden with paving.
The 79-year-old also added an influx of gold items, including gold cherubs from his Mar-a-Lago estate, gold vases, gold urns, gold picture frames, and a gold "Trump" crest over the door leading into the White House.
Interestingly, this is not the first time White has clashed with Trump.
In November 2024, White dropped a copyright infringement lawsuit after the presdient used his song 'Seven Nation Army' in a political video.
The track was also used to soundtrack Trump boarding a plane during campaign stops.
Internet sides with Jack White's critique of Trump's White House revamp
Several internet users sided with Jack White as he took a dig at Donald Trump for the way he has transformed the "historic" White House.
An Instagram comment read, "I’m so grateful someone finally made the 'Idiocracy' reference! Spot on!!!" while one added, "Love you Jack! Thanks for speaking up!"
A person also stated, "As a Ukrainian Canadian, thank you Jack for your support. And for speaking out," whereas one mentioned, "Run for president, you will win. How cool would that be? We need a Detroiter in the WH to make this right."
A user also wrote, "Same for the Rose Garden that Melania destroyed," while one commented, "Love you Jack, always knew you were on the right side of the history."
