Prize and participants' reaction to Zohran Mamdani's creative campaign event

Contestants who reached the end received a token prize, including a cup of tea and a photo with Zohran Mamdani.

X (formerly Twitter) user Sarah Mia reflected on the experience, “While a photo and a tea was technically the prize at the end I think its important to point out that no one was really in it for a prize, the real takeaway was a great day exploring the city with everyone. I was gonna buy a cold drinka fter the hunt anyways yknow.”

The final stop also featured QR codes providing additional information about Astoria restaurants and ways to get involved with Mamdani’s campaign. “Also at the end was QR codes to see what else to do in Astoria (including restaurant recommendations) and ways to get involved with the campaign. I just think it was both a smart campaign activity and a very enjoyable thing for anyone who got to join,” Mia added.

Another participant shared a photograph of her strawberry tea.

Meanwhile, supporter Jeremy Wilcox noted, “The prize? A photo and a meet with the candidate himself (obviously), and a free iced chai (which Mamdani has said in interviews is his favorite drink in the neighborhood).”

One X user wrote, "The Zohran Scavenger Hunt is… insane lol"

"Cannot tell you how restorative it is to see this many people genuinely excited to explore their city," shared another.
