The final stop also featured QR codes providing additional information about Astoria restaurants and ways to get involved with Mamdani’s campaign. “Also at the end was QR codes to see what else to do in Astoria (including restaurant recommendations) and ways to get involved with the campaign. I just think it was both a smart campaign activity and a very enjoyable thing for anyone who got to join,” Mia added.

Zohran Mamdani's community engagement efforts
Zohran Mamdani, who is of Indian-Ugandan heritage and the son of filmmaker Mira Nair and academic Mahmood Mamdani, has previously hosted “Tea with Zohran” sessions throughout his campaign.
These events aimed to build voter connections and dialogue in an informal setting, highlighting his focus on community-oriented outreach.

The Scavenger Hunt builds on that approach, combining city exploration, historical education, and campaign promotion in a fun and interactive format.
Participants described the day as both engaging and entertaining, with the event serving as a creative way for voters to meet the candidate and learn about his campaign firsthand.
