WASHINGTON, DC: Democratic Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has called for the assassination of Iran’s new supreme leader. Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the eldest son of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was recently named to the position. Fetterman made the remarks just hours after reports emerged that Iran threatened a drone attack on California.

This is not the first time Fetterman has spoken about military action against Iran. Notably, he is among the Democrats who did not sign a letter demanding answers regarding the bombing of an Iranian school.

John Fetterman urges aggressive measures against Iran following drone threats

During an interview on NewsNation, Fetterman addressed Iran’s new leadership. He said, “They should kill him, too,” referring to Mojtaba Khamenei. Fetterman added, emphasizing his point: "We should kill EVERY LAST MEMBER of Iran's leadership."

When the anchor noted, “Well, his son is now in charge,” Fetterman responded without hesitation. As per reports, the current supreme leader was wounded in the assault that killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

“Hopefully, he is significantly wounded,” Fetterman said. “And if he does recover, I do absolutely support having Israel just eliminate him, along with any other parts of the leadership.” “I would remind everybody the president tried to negotiate and find a way to avoid all of these things,” he added.

John Fetterman breaks with Democrats over Iran school strike

Fetterman has previously expressed strong support for Israel targeting Khamenei’s successor and any future Iranian leaders if Iran continues aggressive actions in the region and threats toward Israel.

Fetterman also spoke about the U.S. strike on an Iranian elementary school during an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins. When asked why he was the only Senate Democrat not to sign a letter calling for an investigation, he said that while initial findings indicated U.S. involvement, the media had overemphasized the event compared to Iran’s targeting of civilians.

Senate rejects effort to block war with Iran, 47–53. Only Rand Paul voted with Democrats in favor, while John Fetterman was the lone Democrat to vote against.

“Actually, the Pentagon is already investing in that. They just acknowledged that it seems increasingly likely that we were involved,” Fetterman said. “And now I think it’s entirely appropriate, just like my colleague from Louisiana said, we should apologize.”

"That’s a tragedy. And I would remind everybody listening right now, the United States never targets civilians. Iran does, including their own citizens," he added."
