One of the most anticipated and glamorous events of the year, the Met Gala, which will be held on May 6, is entering its 76th year. Over the decades, several A-listers and elites have received the coveted invites to attend the function. After all, it is a big night for celebrities and their equally famous designers. Kim Kardashian and Rihanna are some of the staples of Anna Wintour’s annual fashion gala. However, surprisingly many famous names have not marked their presence yet at the event despite turning heads with their great work and fashion sense. Here are some celebrities we would love to see at the Met Gala flaunting their fashionable best.

1. Britney Spears

The possible reason behind Britney Spears not attending the Met Gala could be her being under a conservatorship for years. In late 2021, she, however, was freed. In an Instagram video shared in May 2022, she wrote, “I was gonna go to Met Gala but instead I got in the tub with my dog and put pjs on!!! I hate flying!!!” Britney has her priorities on point, but imagine watching Britney rule the Met Gala, it would be such a treat.

2. Angelina Jolie

There is no solid reason why Angelina Jolie has not been seen at the annual event yet, given how glamorous she is. But then her troubled personal life and vineyard battle with her ex-husband Brad Pitt might have not left her with time to do much. The Met Gala would also be the best place for her to showcase her designer skills as well.

3. Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston is another beauty who has never been seen at any year’s Met Gala and the reason is unknown. Surprisingly, none of her ‘Friends’ castmates have made it to the event as well. Well, there’s always next year. Aniston’s style, though muted, is elegant and always a treat to watch.

4. Dolly Parton

Despite being a fashion icon, Dolly Parton has stayed away from the red carpet of the yearly Met Gala. The 78-year-old actress is, however, the host of Pet Gala that happened this year in February. That said, we would love to see Dolly and her love for fringes and that cowboy style take over the Met any day.

5. Drake

Drake is yet to grace the red carpet of the Met Gala with his hot looks. Though there is no official reason justifying his absence, it has been speculated that his busy schedule is to blame. Now, how about he give Kendrick Lamar a break and come give his fans what they need?

6. Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey looks fabulous when it comes to Christmas season. Surprisingly, the singer has never once graced the Met Gala, though her ex-spouse Nick Cannon has been at the event. Well, we guess preparation for Christmas starts early for the songstress as she needs to keep her impressive pipes in order. So even if she gives fashion's biggest night a miss, we won't be complaining too much.

7. Leonardo DiCaprio

The handsome heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio has not made it to the Met Gala yet, depriving his oh-so-many fans of seeing him under the blinding flashbulbs. But last year, he was close. He was seen attending the after-party with his then-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who has marked her presence at the event eight times.

8. Meryl Streep

Talk about bad luck for Meryl Streep. The  'Mama Mia' star was reportedly set to not just grace the red carpet of the Met Gala but she was also invited to co-chair alongside Emma Stone, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Nicolas Ghesquiere. But that was in the year 2020, a time when the whole world literally came to a standstill as we  know how. It should be a consolation of sorts that the actress’ daughters Louisa Jacobson, Mamie Gummer, and Grace Gummer have all made it to the event. Here's waiting for Mama Streep.

9. Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle has been one of the most talked about women in recent years, thanks to her wedding to Prince Harry and their subsequent fallout from the royal family. There is no doubt that the Duchess would not disappoint at the Met Gala event considering everyone is always going on about her style. But why she still has not attended Met Gala is still a mystery. We should probably send Anna Wintour a reminder, after all it's great publicity for the Met if royalty also graces it once in a while.

10. Brad Pitt

The dapper hero, like his exes Aniston and Jolie, is yet to walk the famous red carpet of the Met Gala. Always looking handsome in his suits and tuxedos, his fans are still confused as to why the A-lister has not gone to the event.
