10 worst-dressed celebs at MTV VMAs 2024: From Katy Perry’s rag dress to DJ Khaled in pink
The much-awaited MTV Video Music Awards was held on Thursday, September 11 inside the UBS Arena in New York. The event saw music industry’s biggest celebrities, like Camila Cabello, Megan Thee Stallion, and Sabrina Carpenter, posing on their best selves on the red carpet. However, the star-studded function also included some attendees whose head-scratching ensembles disappointed fans as soon as they arrived. Here is the list of the 10 worst-dressed celebrities.
1. Katy Perry
Katy Perry was the winner of the 2024 Video Vanguard Award. Bruce Gillmer, chief content officer of music at Paramount+ reportedly said, “Katy is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon.” But it cannot be said about her outfit. The 39-year-old singer-songwriter’s toned body was not enough to compensate for her weirdly ripped one-shouldered top and skirt.
2. Addison Rae
Addison Rae was quite close to Perry’s style if it had been judged on the level of weirdness. The 23-year-old singer opted for a deconstructed ballerina look that included a white bra, panties, and a white tulle backside, but it lacked the oomph factor.
3. Thalia
The Mexican singing star made a shining entry at the award function but it failed to do its magic. Her ensemble included a bra and miniskirt made up of rosettes with a long train that was almost blinding.
4. Anitta
Anitta served a horror bride look in a bustier-style mini dress, featuring a tulle skirt and a white veil. The outfit also included a pair of thigh-high white stockings and silver heels.
5. Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi
Nicole Polizzi, popularly known as Snooki from the MTV reality series ‘Jersey Shore’, brought back her OG style at the 2024 MTV VMAs. She donned a leopard print mini dress and a pair of platform heels. For her hair, she went with the "pouf" hairstyle but she failed to bring back her 2011 magic.
6. Chet Hanks
Chet Hanks’ biker look did not do him much favor at MTV VMAs 2024 red carpet as he opted for a moto-inspired leather ensemble. The 34-year-old son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson donned a red, black, and white motorcycle jacket and matching pants. He also added a pair of heavy boots featuring white platform soles and laces.
7. Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X maintained a mysterious look as he arrived at the 2024 MTV VMAs in a pink and white leather moto suit. Not only that, but the 25-year-old rapper also covered his face with a giant biker helmet with cone-like ears, only to reveal his identity on the red carpet. However, the suspense drama did not impress the fans.
8. DJ Khaled
It seems DJ Khaled did get the memo about the award shows, where maximalism always wins. The 48-year-old record producer donned a pretty pink but not-so-chic co-rd set which gave a pajama vibe.
9. Lenny Kravitz
Lenny Kravitz’s look cannot be said worst but it was boring. The 60-year-old singer chose tight black pants and a zip-up motorcycle jacket for the night along with a pair of dark sunglasses. He appeared to try to look different by not adding a shirt and only a jewel-embellished tie but it did not create any magic.
10. Karol G
Karol G seemed to vibe with her fierceness in a growing flame design dress but it did not serve. But there was no doubt her beautiful hair, the butterfly tattoo, and the red lip saved the day.
