6 fashion blunders by ‘The View’ hosts: From Joy Behar's red pants to Alyssa Farah Griffin's blue shirt
'The View' has been on air for 27 seasons and the hosts often turn up in their glamorous avatars. While the leading ladies almost always turn heads with their fashionable ensembles, some outfits get called out for their absurd nature. Here are six such outfits worn by 'The View' hosts that did not age well.
1. Whoopi Goldberg's chessboard outfit
One of the most flamboyant of 'The View' hosts, has created her unique style over the years. While the veteran host is known for wearing vibrant colors and bold prints, sometimes her experiments do go wrong. In one such instance, in May 2024, the actress and 'The View' host attended Patti Labelle's 80th birthday celebration in a black and white dual tone. Though black and white together often make a cohesive outfit, in this case, Goldberg's outfit bombed. She paired white leggings with a white button-down shirt. However, it was her oversized black and white romper that ballooned around her figure making it look unflattering, per Nicki Swift.

2. Joy Behar's red pants
Joy Behar usually doesn't give her fans scope to complain about her sartorial choices. but during a 2023 episode of 'The View', the comedian pulled off a bold pairing of red and black. It was not only the color combination, but the fit was also called out by her fans. As she paired high-waisted red wide pants with a black shirt, co-host Anna Navarro - who wasn't present during that episode - poked fun at her by sending a hilarious text. Behar noted during the episode, "I got a text from Ana Navarro ... and she goes, 'Pull your pants down. They're riding all the way up to your b**bs'," before continuing, "She said, 'You look like Urkel'," Behar added.
3. Sara Haines's double slit leather skirt
Sara Haines, who mostly pleases the fashion police with her classic styles, has experimented with bold fashion statements sometimes - not always with flattering effects though. During a May 2024 episode, Sara Haines opted for a double-slit asymmetrical leather skirt, which, needless to say, captured the attention of her co-hosts. Haines joked during the episode, "Quit looking at my skirt, you guys! I have two neighbors looking straight down," after realizing her co-hosts' interest in her outfit. Goldberg replied, "I looked down and something winked at me," which made Haines joke that she expected such comments from men but not her colleagues.
4. Alyssa Farah Griffin's blue shirt
In recent years, Alyssa Farah Griffin too found herself committing a fashion disaster. During a July 2023 episode, Griffin wore a blue, striped, collared shirt with a cut out in her left shoulder. The unflattering cut of the shirt did not garner many followers with her co-hosts taking it upon themselves to fix the style. The stylist for the show, Fran, too joined them on stage and revealed that Griffin was wearing the shirt wrong. Fran fixed the asymmetrical shirt while saying, "The shirt is right because the shirt's really supposed to be worn like this." Griffin replied jovially, "So I'm wrong?" and added, "You cannot trust me with fashion, which is why we have Fran."
5. Sara Haines's front-facing zipper dress
Sara Haines had it wrong again. In June 2023, the glamorous host was poked fun at by her colleagues, especially Joy Behar, for wearing a dress with a front zipper. During a segment where the hosts were discussing their favorite summer essentials, Behar joked while passing the turn to her colleague, "And now I throw the baton over to Ms. Sara Haines, who tried her dress on backward this morning." Haines, however, took the criticism good-naturedly, and quipped, "It happens, it's an occupational hazard."
6. Meghan McCain's green cardigan
Meghan McCain has made a name for herself through her dramatic hairstyles. While some are loved by fans, some get criticized for their absurdity. During a February 2021 episode while discussing Covid-19 vaccines, she styled her hair a side-parted way and tied her golden mass of hair in a complicated braid. She. however, paired the flamboyant hairstyle with a basic green cardigan that did not get many upvotes.
