NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: According to a new book, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers' pious Christian parents severed their relationship with their son after his former girlfriend Olivia Munn revealed that the NFL star had "game day sex."

The new book 'Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers' reveals that Rodgers' connection with his family suffered a severe downturn after he began dating actress Munn in 2014. The two parted ways in 2017.

Olivia Munn's explicit 'game days' remarks offended Aaron Rodgers' parents

The negative perception of Aaron Rodgers stems from his tense relationship with his own family. The 40-year-old quarterback has previously claimed that his parents, Darla and Ed Rodgers, have taken advantage of him.

According to sports journalist Ian O'Connor, Munn's intimate comments about her love life in an interview offended the quarterback's parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers.

O'Connor stated in his book 'Out of the Darkness', Ed and Darla believed that the actress was the "chief culprit" for the strife in their family, which began in 2014 when she began dating Aaron.

An early passage from the book was revealed by the Daily Mail, which stated that Darla Rodgers was "aghast" at the actress's remarks about their romantic life.

Devout Christian Darla was appalled to learn that Munn, now 44, was having sex with Rodgers before getting married. She was further incensed when Munn revealed in interviews that they did not do it on game days.

In the alleged interview, Munn was asked by host Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live' in December 2014 if she had slept with the then-Green Bay Packers quarterback on game days.

"No, we don't. Not on game days. There's not a rule, but it just doesn't happen because there are other things to focus on," Munn replied at the time.

Munn did, however, mention that they sometimes have sex after Packers games. "It depends on how late the game is…I try to have sex as much as I can," she remarked.

Munn was "saying all that s*** and it pissed off Darla, really pissed her off," a source claimed.

"Given her devout religious views, Aaron's mother disapproved of premarital sex and was opposed to her middle child sharing a hotel room with his girlfriend even as an NFL player," O'Connor wrote.

"Darla did not appreciate how Munn joked about oral sex in an interview or how she publicly talked about her sex life with Aaron just before that loss at Buffalo," O'Connor added.

Olivia Munn allegedly got into an 'angry rant' with Aaron Rodgers' parents

The family issues reached a breaking point in 2017 when it emerged that Olivia Munn persuaded Aaron Rodgers not to see his parents while on a trip to Tampa Bay. Munn ended her relationship with Aaron later that year.

Munn allegedly got into an "angry rant" with Rodgers' parents when they were supposed to meet with him following the Tampa Bay game, said O'Connor.

Rodgers' parents had intended to attend the game while visiting Disney World but Munn "made clear she did not want [Rodgers' parents] meeting them or attending the game."

"Ed and Darla explained that they had been attending Aaron's games since he was a kid and did not need her permission to continue to do so," the book states.

"You haven't been on the scene very long. You're just his girlfriend. We're his parents," Ed said to Munn at the time. Aaron apparently became enraged by this and wrote his family an email saying, "Don't attack the woman I love."

According to O'Connor, Ed and Darla were "sent to the Island," and they would not communicate with their son for another nine years.

Aaron Rodgers allegedly sent back Christmas gift from his parents following ex-Olivia Munn's advice

On another occasion, Aaron Rodgers took Olivia Munn's advice and returned a Christmas gift from his parents. Munn "did not help her own cause," wrote O'Connor, who cited a specific event that caused rifts between her and Rodgers' parents.

It appears that the gift was returned to Aaron's home around Ed's birthday, and they thought it was a gift for his father. The argument grew worse when they learned Aaron had returned his Christmas gift.

O'Connor said Munn "insulted" them by returning Christmas presents that Ed and Darla had purchased for her and their son.

The author further indicated that Aaron might have broken off his relationship with his parents because he believed his kindness toward them was being "taken for granted."

Munn "agreed" with that observation, believing his family had no right to "do any fame and fortune chasing through him."

Given that his own mother was "strong and unyielding" and that Munn was a "presence in her own right," Aaron—who currently plays for the New York Jets—seemed to get into it.

However, Munn was eventually identified by Ed and Darla as the "chief culprit in the family division."
