ABC's David Muir mocked for using 'clothespins' to adjust jacket's fit while reporting live on LA fires
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ABC News anchor David Muir was brutally trolled and called "pathetic" and "narcissistic" on social media for using clamps to adjust his flame-retardant jacket while reporting live from the site of the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.
The host of 'World News Tonight with David Muir' was delivering a live report about the damages in Los Angeles for ABC News from a street in Pacific Palisades when his fashion misstep was revealed.

David Muir's clothes peg visible on his jacket during wildfire reporting
While reporting on the Los Angeles wildfires, David Muir turns to point to the devastation behind him, saying, “As you can see here behind me.” As he does so, a wooden clamp, resembling a traditional clothes peg, is clearly visible on the back of his jacket.
The clamp, used to tighten the ill-fitting ABC News-branded jacket, emphasized Muir's torso and became a subject of mockery online.
"Nice jacket, bro. Glad you look nice and svelte with those clothes line pegs, while our city burns to the ground," Jack Osbourne wrote in a caption alongside the video on X (formerly Twitter).
While using clothes pegs for cinching clothes is a common styling technique in television, it was not well-received in this instance.

Muir is well-acquainted with criticism. Conservatives criticized the anchor last summer for his moderation of the presidential debate, accusing him of displaying political bias against then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, reported the New York Post.
During the debate, the host allegedly interrupted Trump multiple times and failed to conduct any on-air fact-checks of the gaffe-prone Vice President Kamala Harris.
