PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former First Lady Melania Trump's fashion consultant Herve Pierre Braillard was paid $371,000 from Donald Trump's Save America leadership PAC since April 2022, reported Daily Mail.

The stylist made over $100,000 from the PAC in the second half of 2023 alone when the former President was bleeding whopping amounts in legal fees.

According to the PAC's filing with the Federal Election Commission, Braillard, a French-American designer, received a total of $132,000 in eight installments of $18,000 and $6,000 labeled as 'Strategy Consulting'.

Melania was last spotted in a public appearance at the Naturalization Ceremony at the National Archives in December 2023 and then at her mother Amalija Knav's funeral on January 18 in Florida. She was never seen with her husband in his ongoing presidential campaign or the multiple court appearances.

News of the shocking spending came amid reports of the former President spending more than $50 million on legal fees last year. Based on a report by The Hill, Trump entities paid around $30 million as legal consultation fees in the second half of 2023.

Stylist says First Lady's post-White House life involves other aspects than fashion

Responding to the report, Braillard told Daily Mail that Melania's "after-the-White House life involves many other aspects than fashion".

"I am lucky to have worked in prestigious houses, to have designed [costumes] for ballets and more recently to work in home decor. There are many upcoming projects in this after-the-White House [stage]," the stylist added.

It is not clear what the renowned fashion consultant does for the Trump family. During her life in the White House, Braillard helped Melania pick out the dresses for her official duties, and her ivory inaugural gown was his original design.

Despite the former President strengthening his position, the ex-First Lady has not accompanied him in any events. In addition, reports also suggested that Trump persuaded her to stay with him during the campaign despite her plans to leave him in 2023.

Internet taken aback by former First Lady's fashion expenses

Social media users slammed the former President, baffled by the fashion expenditure for his wife.

One user remarked, "Absolutely criminal. If it isn't illegal. It should be."

Another user wrote, "Does he not have ANY $$$ of his own?! His cult, and this PAC seems to be paying for everything."

"Sick," a third user added.

A fourth response read, "Anything to get Melania to stay with him thru November."

One user said, "'Billionaire' too cheap to pay for his wife's upkeep."

"Beyond ridiculous," said another user.
