‘Celebrity entitlement': Farrah Fawcett’s friend fumes over Ryan O’Neal being buried alongside actress
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Not all friends of Farrah Fawcett are happy with the fact that her ex Ryan O’Neal was buried next to her resting place at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary in Los Angeles.
After O’Neal’s death on December 8, 2023, the ‘The List’ actor was buried next to Fawcett with whom he had an on-and-off relationship for long.
Craig Nevius, one of Fawcett’s friends and the producer of both the 2005 reality show ‘Chasing Farrah’, and the 2009 documentary ‘Farrah's Story’, is fuming at the decision as he claimed Fawcett wanted her mortal remains to be cremated and her ashes taken back to her home state of Texas, per RadarOnline.
Farrah Fawcett’s pal claims Ryan O’Neal getting buried beside the actress is ‘narcissistic’
In a recent interview with the outlet, Nevius further shared that O’Neal’s name was included on the headstone of Fawcett and he fumed at the decision.
Nevius stated in rage, "Ryan got what he wanted. He and Farrah are now co-stars in eternity," before adding, "This is the ultimate act of celebrity entitlement and narcissism."
Fawcett’s friend found the act even more controversial because of the tumultuous nature of the duo’s relationship.
After separating from her husband Lee Majors in 1979, Fawcett started a passionate affair with Ryan O’Neal. Though they never married, they were in a relationship for more than 17 years until the ‘Jewel’ actress found O’Neal cheating on her with another woman.
The duo nevertheless rekindled their romance again and remained involved romantically till her death in 2009.
Terming the act of choosing O’Neal’s resting place beside Fawcett as "truly disgusting," the friend shared, "Even more disgusting than Ryan saying that he would marry Farrah on her deathbed even if he had to nod her head for her."
After suffering from leukemia for decades, O’Neal breathed his last on December 8, 2023, aged 82.
Ryan O'Neal said he loved Farrah Fawcett with all his heart
After Fawcett's death in 2009, aged 62, O'Neal shared with People, “I loved her with all my heart,” and added, “I will miss her so very, very much.”
10 years after her death, O'Neal shared with People again, "There was never a day I didn't love her."
The former couple shared a child together, Redmond O'Neal, born in 1985.
However, it was not only O'Neal who talked highly of Fawcett and their love, but the actress' several close friends too corroborated the same.
Fawcett's close friend Sylvia Dorsey once shared with the magazine, "Ryan was the love of her life. I don't think she was happy without him. They fought and loved with passion. It was never boring. They were electric together."
Another close friend of Fawcett, Alana Stewart shared the story of O'Neal proposing marriage to the 'Extremities' star on her death bed. Stewart shared, "He never left her side, especially those last few months."
She added, "I think they would've married if she had made it because he asked her to marry him in the hospital and she said yes. But she took a turn for the worse. This was just a few weeks before the end, so perhaps it wasn't realistic."
"The two of them had a deep bond and deep love. No matter what they went through, the ups and downs, he was the one she wanted by her side."
