MANHATTAN, NEW YOR CITY: On the December 21 episode of 'Late Night With Seth Meyers', Adam Driver revealed that he didn't physically drive a car during the filming of Michael Mann's 'Ferrari'.

The actor, portraying Enzo Ferrari in Mann's upcoming movie, shared this detail during an appearance on the show, where they discussed the film set to release in theaters on December 25, 2023.

Adam Driver says being driven by Michael Mann in a Ferrari was scary

The conversation reeled on with Meyers asking, "Did you have a favorite Michael Mann film before you started working on this?"

"Oh. Uh... hard to -- Hard to say. 'Heat' and 'The Insider' are probably my two favorites. And it kind of varies, you know, month to month -- 'Insider', 'Heat'. But probably 'Heat' has been the most influential", Driver replied.

Meyers then addressed the significant amount of driving in 'Ferrari' and inquired if Driver experienced being in a car with Michael Mann while he was driving.

The actor replied, "Oh, actually, that is true. Yeah. No one's asked me about that. That was the most scary. He has a Ferrari. And I've driven his Ferrari, and that's the most scared I've ever been".

When Seth Meyers inquired about Adam Driver's involvement in actual driving scenes for 'Ferrari', Driver emphatically responded with a "no."

"He [Enzo Ferrari] wasn’t racing [at that time in his life], and the little thing we did race, it was a very historic vehicle, so they don’t want you driving that around. And, also, just insurance reasons. They don’t want you driving around these kinds of replica 801s that are very dangerous," Driver said.

He continued, “It becomes obvious right away how dangerous they are. There’s no roll cages, there’s no seat belts. The goal was to be thrown from the car as opposed to stuck in the car and burned to death.”

Driver's revelation made 'Late Night' fans take to the comment section to write, "No matter who is behind the wheel, Adam is always the Driver".

Other comments read, "Very diplomatic of Adam to describe Michael Mann as having a relentless pursuit for authenticity. Cast members from other productions have described him in far harsher terms. I really like the way Seth does interviews - he’s so laid back and actually lets the guest finish a sentence".
