Simon Cowell praised Emily Gold’s ‘AGT’ performance as 'absolutely brilliant' despite elimination

Emily Gold and her teammates impressed the judges — including Simon Cowell, the famously tough critic, who gave them a rare standing ovation following their audition performance in May.

Cowell, 64, praised the experience, saying, “It was absolutely brilliant. What I loved about this was first of all the energy. I think what I just saw is everything a great school should be doing, which is encouraging talent and friendship.”

The high-energy group was eliminated during the show's August quarterfinals, but Cowell remained impressed.

“I don’t know much about dance,” he remarked, “but to me, that was an event.”

Despite being eliminated, the teen dancer expressed her gratitude, calling the experience of performing on the show “the most incredible” in one of her final Instagram posts, according to Pennlive.
