Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin fear they're sliding into 'outcast status' following 'Rust' trial
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alec Baldwin may have avoided legal consequences after escaping involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of 'Rust' cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, but his social troubles reportedly continue.
The 66-year-old star and his wife Hilaria Baldwin, are reportedly concerned about being “outcast” from their Hollywood peers, according to an insider.
Recently, a source close to the '30 Rock' star’s family revealed to In Touch that, following the intense legal battle, the family feels they are now being snubbed by Hollywood elites.
Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin fear social shunning
The source close to Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin revealed to the outlet, “They assumed everything would go back to status quo, but it hasn’t — and now they’re desperately worried they’re free-falling into outcast status!”
On July 12, a New Mexico judge dropped the involuntary manslaughter charges against the Hollywood veteran related to the 2021 accidental fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins.
More than a month later, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin made a joint public appearance at the US Open, attending a First Round match on August 26.
Referring to pictures of the couple from the US Open, the source noted that Alec and Hilaria Baldwin appeared “stressed and tired,” with Alec looking as if he had “aged ten years.”
The source continued, “Everyone was talking about how exhausted and sour-faced they looked,” before adding, “Alec’s aged ten years!”
Following a months-long legal battle, the source observed that the ‘Beetlejuice’ actor and his 40-year-old wife have been “worn down.” As soon as the anxiety over his possible imprisonment was lifted by the judge’s ruling, the couple shifted their focus to producing their family’s upcoming reality show, 'The Baldwins.'
“They’re both so worn down. They’ve gone from living on the edge for months over fears Alec was going to jail to long hours on their reality show,” shared the insider.
However, the insider revealed that overwork isn't their only concern; the couple has reportedly not been received as warmly by their industry peers as they had hoped.
“They were hoping to reinvent themselves on the Hamptons social circuit this summer — but invites to parties were few and far between,” explained the source.
Though the ‘Rust’ episode is seemingly over, the mole added, “Alec’s pretty sore he’s still getting torn to shreds over the Rust shooting.”
The insider continued, “It was a horrible tragedy, and something that still haunts him. But that doesn’t mean he should be fair game to get slandered. He feels like no one has his back!”

As the actor's trial came to an end, Baldwin burst into tears as his wife Hilaria - who had been a constant presence by his side during the court proceedings - comforted her beleaguered husband.
Previously, the couple announced their TV show, 'The Baldwins,' set to premiere in 2025. The series will showcase their family life with their seven children, aged two to eleven.
