WASHINGTON, DC: Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist and podcast host, said on Tuesday, March 31, that President Donald Trump was in “free fall.” He argued that it may be time to “cut the bait” on the president as the November midterm elections approach.

Jones has been critical of Trump in the past, but his recent comments have been more forceful. He suggested that Republican candidates should distance themselves from Trump during their campaigns. He also questioned Trump’s health and urged candidates to “mobilize against the Democrats.”

He pointed to Trump’s disputes with Marjorie Taylor Greene, concerns over the handling of Epstein-related documents, and questions about the president’s health.

InfoWars founder Alex Jones speaks to the media outside Waterbury Superior Court during his trial on September 21, 2022 in Waterbury, Connecticut. Jones is being sued by several victims' families for causing emotional and psychological harm after they lost their children in the Sandy Hook massacre. A Texas jury last month ordered Jones to pay $49.3 million to the parents of 6-year-old Jesse Lewis, one of 26 students and teachers killed in the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. On Tuesday’s episode of 'The Alex Jones Show', Jones claimed Trump is showing signs of decline. “When your ankles swell up three times the size they were before, that means heart failure. And he does look sick. And he does babble and, you know, sound like the brain’s not doing too hot,” he said. He added, “And so we just cut bait on Trump, and we just mobilize against the Democrats.”

He also compared Trump’s situation to his father’s dementia. He said Trump is no longer the same person as before and suggested he should step back. “Not the man he was that last year. And that we need to be sad about Trump. This is not funny. This is not good. But he’s gone. And that’s it,” Jones said.

He said, “And all the people rallied around him, you can see, (Pete) Hegseth’s freaked out. You can see the press secretary’s freaked out. They’re being loyal. They think it’s a lesser of two evils. And I, okay, but I just, Trump needs intervention. He needs to take some time off.”

Jones went on to suggest that Trump’s situation is beyond recovery. “Too bad Trump run off the edge of a cliff,” he said. He added, “I don’t think he’s coming back from it,” while calling for Republicans to continue their efforts while maintaining their own political identity.

Alex Jones says GOP must rethink ties

Jones pointed to a recent poll from the University of Massachusetts Amherst showing Trump’s approval at 33%. He said this drop should push Republicans to rethink their approach. “These are real numbers, folks, and I see it in the streets.”

He added that Trump’s support has fallen sharply compared to earlier levels. “Trump is at 33%. He was up at 56, six months ago, the most popular he’s ever been,” he said.

Jones also claimed Trump has lost support among key voters, especially independents. “In Independents, that 80% voted for him, he’s lost 80%,” he said. “In minute forty-five, he’s lost half of them. Trump is in free fall, and that means we’re in free fall in the midterms.”

He argued that Republican candidates should clearly separate themselves from Trump. “We are real America firsters… but we’re not Trump,” he said. Jones added that candidates should focus on stopping Democratic policies while distancing themselves from Trump’s leadership.

He also urged Republicans to push harder in upcoming elections. “We need to get more good members of Congress. We need to electioneer even harder. Even harder,” he said.

Trump and his health issues

Trump’s health issues have been quite a concern for the past year. Many people have talked about his physical condition and overall well-being. Some observers point to changes in his appearance, speech, and energy levels as reasons for these discussions.

However, supporters say he is still active and capable. Overall, the topic continues to draw attention and debate in political and media circles.
