LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have formally separated after months of making headlines regarding their romance and marriage. After two years of marriage, the 'Atlas' star filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20.
Meanwhile, Lopez's ex-fiance Alex Rodriguez shared a cryptic post on social media, leading some fans to believe it was about the Hollywood couple's impending divorce.

The 49-year-old retired MLB player shared a mysterious message about making empowering decisions on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, August 20—the same day that his ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52.
The post read: "You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction."
The remark attributed to Rodriguez was written in a blue font in front of a tan backdrop. The Con.cept, a female-led creative house based in New York City, first shared it on the site, per People.
The 'Marry Me' actress filed the separation agreement shortly before the post appeared. Supporters surmise that Lopez, who got engaged to the baseball player in 2021, is the target of the post.
However, Rodriguez's Instagram post "has nothing to do" with Lopez, an insider told the outlet.

The singer and the former New York Yankees player began dating in February 2017. They soon made their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala and got engaged in the Bahamas in March 2019.
In an interview with People following Rodriguez's proposal to her in the Bahamas, Lopez stated, "We’re really happy."
"We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most," Rodriguez said at the time.
However, the couple called off their engagement in March 2021, as reported by Page Six. The news was officially announced in an April statement.
Their joint statement read; "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another's children."
"Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
Rodriguez has hardly spoken about Lopez since their breakup except for his August 2021 statement to Entertainment Tonight calling their romance "incredible."
"I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters," the athlete, who has daughters Natasha, 19, and Ella, 16, with her ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, stated.
The former MLB player is currently in a relationship with Canadian fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro, with whom he was initially linked in October 2022.
Shortly after her breakup with Rodriguez, Lopez and Affleck reconciled. The 'Argo' filmmaker and the singer were first romantically involved from 2002 until 2004.
In April 2022, Lopez and Affleck reconciled and became engaged again. In July 2022, they got married at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.
Two months later, on August 20, 2022, they had a second, grander ceremony at Affleck's house in Riceboro, Georgia.
It was precisely two years to the day after their Georgia wedding when Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck.
