‘ALF’ star Benji Gregory’s cause of death revealed 3 months after his body was found in car
PEORIA, ARIZONA: Former child star Benji Gregory’s cause of death has finally been confirmed by officials, months after he was discovered dead in his car alongside his service dog, Hans.
The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner disclosed the cause of death as an accident, as reported by People.
The findings also stated that the voice artist suffered "environmental heat exposure in the setting of hepatic cirrhosis", which resulted in his death.
Benji Gregory's sister shares heartbreaking news of his death
Benji Gregory was 46 when he died on June 13. Almost a month later, his sister Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger shared about the tragedy with the world via a social media post.
She wrote on Facebook, “It is with a heavy heart my family has suffered a loss way too early. Ben was a great Son, Brother, and Uncle. He was fun to be around and made us laugh quite often.”
“Still, going through his things, I find myself laughing at little videos or notes of his, in between crying. My brother Ben was found in his car, along with his beloved service dog Hans, deceased on June 13. We believe he went there the evening of the 12th to deposit some residuals,” she noted.
Hertzberg-Pfaffinger added, “(Found in his car) and never got out of the car to do so. He fell asleep and died from vehicular heatstroke.”
At the time, she revealed to TMZ that Gregory was battling bipolar disorder and depression, and also suffered a sleep disorder.

Benji Gregory also served in US Navy
Benji Gregory’s character Brian Tanner became a household name in the late '80s after he starred in NBC’s sitcom ‘ALF’ which ran from 1986 to 1990.
Besides being Brian, he also appeared in ‘The A-Team’ and ‘The Twilight Zone’ in the '80s and worked in a TV pilot, ‘Fenster Hall’. He was also seen in a Disney movie, ‘Mr Boogedy’, and ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’.
However, in 2003, Gregory moved away from the entertainment world before enrolling himself in the US Navy and becoming an aerographer’s mate.
Two years later, he was honorably discharged.
