LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alina Habba, spokesperson for former President Donald Trump, has faced backlash for her startling assertion during a recent appearance on Fox News.

While discussing the Biden administration's response to Hurricane Helene, which wreaked havoc in parts of the southeastern US, Habba claimed that “babies are floating in the water” as a way to criticize relief efforts.

During her segment on 'The Story', Habba aimed to highlight the struggles faced by residents in Western Carolina, saying, “These are real people with real issues. They don’t need a $750 handout for a press headline. They need help. They need water. There are still people missing. There are babies floating in the water, and [the Harris campaign is] on podcasts? That’s what the Harris team is doing.”

Host Martha MacCallum quickly challenged Habba’s claim, asking, “Where did you see that report of a baby floating in the water?”

Habba responded, “We have absolutely heard there are children floating,” but did not provide any evidence to support her assertion. The discussion shifted as MacCallum noted the number of confirmed casualties, stating, “Two hundred and—” to which Habba replied, “Thirty-two. Yeah, thank you,” before praising Trump.

NYC and other cities are bracing for a possible indictment of former President Donald Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in his investigation into the former president's involvement in a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels prior to the 2016 presidential election.

Critics have pointed out that there seems to be no credible basis for Habba’s alarming assertion. This incident follows a pattern of misinformation surrounding Hurricane Helene, including Trump’s unfounded allegations that hurricane aid was being misallocated to migrants rather than to those directly affected by the storm.
