Infamous 2009 MTV VMAs incident

In 2009, Swift was honored with the Best Female Video award for ‘You Belong with Me’, and as she gave her acceptance speech, the ‘Donda’ rapper interrupted her.

He also snatched the mic from her and told her, “Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish. But Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!”

Amber Rose says she ‘loves Taylor Swift’

Over a decade after the incident, Rose said, “I don't want to say the wrong thing because I love Taylor Swift, she's amazing.” At the time of the incident, Rose was linked with the rapper as the two dated from 2008 to 2010.

She continued to say, “Was he wrong for going on stage? Absolutely. Was he telling the truth? He was telling the truth -- Beyoncé deserved that award but you can't take it from somebody else,” she continued, before asserting, “It wasn't Taylor Swift's fault.”

The TV personality further shared that the VMA staff members “came and took him away and had a conversation with him and I was just sitting there like, 'Oh my god, I can't believe it.’”

Rose noted, “I was there but it wasn't -- it didn't happen to me. And I can honestly say that he was very remorseful.

She defended the rapper, claiming, “He instantly felt bad because it wasn't about Taylor at all, it wasn't like I think the media made it seem -- like he was picking on her and stuff. He wasn't, he was just standing up for Beyoncé.”

Kanye West ‘felt bad’ for ruining Taylor Swift’s moment

The mother-of-one also gave the reason behind West’s action as she claimed, “It was 'Single Ladies.' I mean, everyone around the world [was] doing that dance from the video and it was just an unfortunate situation.”

However, she asserted that West was not proud of what he did with Swift. Rose added, “[Kanye] obviously felt bad he took her moment. He didn't want to do that to her.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the ‘How to Be a Bad B***h’ author discussed her son Sebastian Taylor Thomaz, whom she had with rapper Wiz Khalifa.

She revealed, “He's into more rap music. Although he still loves Taylor, he does. Like sometimes, when I take him to school, you know we'll put it on um in the car and we'll sing.”
