Mike Wolfe began his message by describing the photo as a reflection of his current state of mind: “I chose this photo to post because this is where I’m at right now in my life, happy, content and excited about the future. This past year has brought loss and some heart ache but it also has beautiful moments with my daughter and family.”
While he didn’t directly name the loss, fans are aware of the devastating death of Fritz, his former 'American Pickers' co-host and longtime friend.

His death, caused by “late sequela of cerebral infarction,” was compounded by other health issues, including aortic stenosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The pair shared a complex relationship, with a falling out that led to Fritz's departure from 'American Pickers' in 2021.
Despite their estrangement, Frank’s death marked the end of a long chapter in Wolfe's life.
