'An interesting reunion': Internet gushes as ex-spouses Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum reunite at SAG Awards after three decades

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 30th SAG Awards has just concluded with the award stage witnessing several memorable reunions.

Apart from the eclectic reunion of the ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ cast, the award ceremony also witnessed the reunion of former castmates turned former spouses - Gina Davis and Jeff Goldblum.

Gina Davis and Jeff Goldblum were married for four years

Davis, 68, and Goldblum, 71, reunited at the SAG Awards on Saturday, February 24, to present the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture Award.

The two stars who starred in four movies together, including ‘The Fly’ and ‘Earth Girls Are Eaasy’, not only partnered with each other on-screen but also partnered with each in real life.

After starring together in the 1986 film ‘The Fly’, the couple tied the knot in 1987. They were married for four years before separating in 1991.

Nevertheless, more than 30 years later, the couple reunited at the professional front when they teamed up to present the top honor of the night.

Goldblum welcomed his erstwhile spouse on stage by announcing, "The great Geena Davis, everybody," per Entertainment Weekly.

Referring to the David Cronenberg-directed film ‘The Fly,’ Davis commented, "You know, we're so honored to be giving away this award because we had a pretty good cast in The Fly.”

Goldblum appeared being caught off guard, said, “Oh, the movie The Fly, yeah yeah,” and joked about the disappointment that they did not have such an award show then.

"Because [of] you, certainly, and David Cronenberg was in the cast, he kind of played a part in that thing, so yes," continued Goldblum to which, Davis noted, "But Jeff, they didn't have this award then.”

Calling his former wife by her full name, Goldblum quipped, "That's right, that's fine. That's some consolation. Always glass half-full, thank you, Geena Davis," before admitting that it was a "delicious task" to present the award.

The duo then went on to read the names of the nominees including ‘American Fiction’, ‘Barbie’, ‘The Color Purple’, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, and ‘Oppenheimer’. The Christopher Nolan directorial atomic saga ultimately took home the award. 

Internet finds Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum to be 'well matched'

Internet were left to collective gasps as they found out the SAG presenters Genna Davis and Jeff Goldblum were oncee married.

One of the fans exclaimed, "36 years later! Wow! Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis."

"Loved the Earth Girls Are Easy and The Fly reunion of Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis at the #SAGAwards,' exclaimed another fan.

Someone else added excitedly, "Whoever decided to pair exes Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis as presenters deserves a substantial raise."

Another fan reminisced the good old days and said, "Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis presenting together??!! It's blowing my mind a little. Weren't they married many years ago? lol #SAGAwards."

"Did you scream when ex-spouses geena davis and jeff goldblum walked out on stage or are you normal," asked another excited social media user.

Someone else quipped, "Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum were married for 4 years in the late 80s, but you'd never know it by the way they're interacting right now. He keeps calling her by her full name 😂."

"Makes you wonder why Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis didn’t make it. They seem very well matched," observed another fan.

Someone else commented, "Exes Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum on stage at SAG. An interesting reunion."

However, there were certain dissenters who were not pleased to see the two stars reunite again at teh SAG-AFTRA stage. One of them said, "Two aging celebrities clinging to their former glory days and milking their past relationship for all it's worth? #OldHollywood #HasBeens."
