NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ana Navarro slammed the media as well as Democratic leaders calling for President Joe Biden to step down as the party's nominee ahead of the upcoming general election, on the Monday, July 8, episode of 'The View'.

She was joined by co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin at the Hot Topics table while making her remarks, as they discussed the incumbent's recent interviews where he made promises to continue his campaign.

Voices have been growing louder for Biden to step down since his abysmal performance against Donald Trump in the first presidential debate on June 27. While many of the co-hosts had suggested it was time for Biden to drop out back then, Navarro had his back even then.

"I love Joe Biden, and I’ve known Joe Biden for over 20 years, I’ve never seen Joe Biden like I saw him last night. It is worrisome, but … until Joe Biden tells me he is giving up, I’m not giving up on Joe Biden," she had stated the day after the debate.

Ana Navarro slams media for criticizing Joe Biden

"I'm worried and I'm pissed, frankly, I'm livid," Navarro told her co-hosts on Monday. "Because for the last eight days, it feels to me (that) I have seen nothing but breathless reporting. it almost feels like media malpractice of them, trying to score against Biden."

"They have been slicing, dicing, cubing everything he says, putting on a microscope slide, and then looking at it under all sorts of magnifying glasses."

"Look, Joe Biden is the nominee," she highlighted. "He is the human being standing between us and Donald Trump. I think Democrats need to stop making the case against Joe Biden and start making the case against Donald Trump. I think the media needs to give some parity to the coverage that they are doing because in their zeal to fact-check Joe Biden, they too are making mistakes," she added.

Ana Navarro touts her meeting with Joe Biden to vouch for him

To validate herself going on record to defend Joe Biden amid rising concern for his health, Navarro shared, "I saw Joe Biden the day after the debate. I saw him ... at an LGBTQ gala. I hugged him so tight I almost broke a rib... but I saw Joe Biden."

"I'm not an anonymous source, I'm not somebody who pretended to have spoken to him. I did speak with him, and he is just fine. He had a bad night, and until Joe Biden tells me he is out, I am riding with Biden-Harris," she reiterated her promise.

Navarro went on to praise the Vice President and said, "They are a team, and Kamala Harris has come out so strong this last week as part of that team. Part of the reason I have no qualms supporting Joe Biden is because I know if something happens to him, like every other Vice President, she will step in. And she is prepared, she is experienced, decent, compassionate, (and) smart. She is far from the caricature that Republicans have tried to build with her."
