Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig’s feeling ‘genuine’ in their relationship as they ‘always get along’
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig discovered a connection with each other following the infidelity of their former spouses, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes, who publicly revealed their affair.
A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that their romance is not a rebound, but a genuine connection and that they are "happy together."
How Andrew and Marilee met and fell in love
Andrew, 56, and Marilee, 45, were already acquainted before they became a couple, as they used to go on double dates with Amy, 50, and TJ, 46.
The source said, they “knew each other” and “always got along."
Their friendship turned into something more when they both faced the betrayal of their spouses, who were caught by the Daily Mail in November 2022 having several dates while still married.
How Amy and TJ defended their affair and launched a podcast
Amy and TJ faced a lot of backlash after their scandal broke. Both broadcast journalists were suspended from GMA3 in December 2022 and fired in January 2023.
One year later, they initiated a podcast titled 'Amy & TJ' in December 2023 to advocate for and discuss their relationship.
In the first episode, they claimed that they were already separated from their spouses when they began dating and that they were planning to tell ABC about it but waited for the divorce to be settled.
"To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers," they told in the podcast.
"Being outed as cheating on our spouses and it wasn’t the case because the odd thing is, the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we both at that point were in divorce proceedings,” TJ said on the podcast.
Amy added, “We had attorneys, mediators, we were in the middle of divorces.”
How Andrew and Marilee are moving on and happy together
Andrew and Marilee started dating in mid-2023 as per Page Six, however, the news broke after Amy and TJ came out for their defense.
The source told US Weekly that Amy and TJ were aware of their exes’ romance for a few months, but did not think much of it.
“It was surprising, but they didn’t think it was anything serious or worth a lot of energy,” the source said.
However, they were annoyed by the timing of the relationship reveal, which they thought was planned and petty.
