The Kentucky governor did not hold back his criticism of Trump, particularly on the issue of abortion.

He noted that the Republican presidential nominee's influence has resulted in strict abortion bans in states like Kentucky, even in case of rape, incest and non-vaible pregnancies, according to USA Today.

Beshear criticized Trump for tearing away the constitutional rights of women and girls across the country and stated, "That's why we must tear away any chance he could ever be president ever again."

Andy Beshear's confidence in Kamala Harris' victory

Amid the sharp critiques, Andy Beshear shared a message of hope and confidence in Kamala Harris' victory.

He drew parallels between Harris' campaign and his own successful re-election as Governor of Kentucky in 2023 where he defeated former Attorney General of Kentucky Daniel Cameron, a candidate backed by Trump and Senator Mitch McConnell.

"I beat Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell's hand-picked candidate by more than five percentage points. This November. We're going to beat them," said Beshear.

"And we're going to win by staying true to our values of compassion, empathy, and doing right by our neighbors," he continued.

As Florida transitioned from a swing state to the center of the Republican universe, Beshear told Florida Democrats, "We’ve got to make sure that we don’t give up any state, that we don’t give up any county, that we fight in every single place across this country."

“Because I, like you, want to make sure we eventually have a future where seven states don’t decide the presidency, where we all matter in these election years,” he added.

Andy Beshear's support for Harris-Walz ticket

Andy Beshear, who was vetted as a potential running mate for Kamala Harris, expressed his full support for Minnesota governor Tim Walz who was ultimately selected as the vice-presidential candidate.

"It was an honor to be considered in this process, but @Tim_Walz is a great friend and a great choice. I fully support this new ticket and will work to elect @KamalaHarris as our next President of the United States," he wrote on X.

Beshear has been actively campaigning for Harris, making appearances in key battleground states like Iowa and Georgia.
