LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Andy Cohen looks leaner and more in shape lately, but he says it’s not about the number on the scale—it’s about feeling healthy and confident in his own skin, according to Page Six.

He revealed that the “The Valley” Season 2 reunion was the wake-up call he needed to set rules and commit to a physical transformation. On the "Today with Jenna & Friends" show, the TV host shared that he embarked on a serious weight-loss journey and used GLP-1 medication as part of the process.

He didn’t shy away from discussing his transformation.

Andy Cohen opens up about weight-loss journey and GLP-1 medications

During his appearance on "Today with Jenna & Friends," hosted by Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager on Friday, September 26, Cohen explained what motivated him to pursue his remarkable weight-loss journey and shared the steps he took to achieve his current shape. “I couldn’t button my suits. It was bad,” he said.

He began taking a weight-loss drug after realizing he didn’t look “at his best” during his May appearance, which aired in July. “After that, I was like, ‘I’ve got to get my act together,'” the Watch What Happens Live host, 57, recalled.

Cohen also stressed the importance of physical appearance in the TV industry, noting that self-awareness is key when you’re constantly on camera. “We all notice ourselves, and especially when we’re on TV and looking at a monitor of ourselves every day, it’s terrible. If you watch the Valley reunion from last season, which I know you will, I do not look my best. It was after that that I was like, ‘I gotta get this together,’” he said.

Speaking about his transformation, Cohen shared that he feels great after losing “a good chunk of weight” and used a combination of methods to slim down. He referred to GLP-1 medications, which mimic a gut hormone that signals fullness, helping reduce appetite and support weight loss. “I was microdosing a GLP, whatever it’s called,” he said.

“Given that for 20 years I have been asking people about their body regimens, I do think it would be hypocritical not to share that I did lose a good chunk of weight by microdosing a GLP-1 all summer,” he added.

When asked if microdosing alone was enough to achieve his weight-loss goals, Cohen replied, "It was enough for me. It kickstarted something." He added that while he used microdosing over the summer, he was very mindful of his diet and fitness routine to reach his current weight.

“It was a real fitness journey for me as well, and I’m just being much more deliberate about what I put in my mouth and how I work out. I’m lifting heavier weights, and it’s been great,” he said.

Cohen revealed that he began microdosing after consulting his doctor about his weight concerns. "My doctor and I talked about this last year. They had recommended a GLP-1 a few times to address my weight concerns, as well as treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure. This is a medication that is beneficial for multiple health aspects. I finally said yes," he said.

What microdosing GLP-1 means

Microdosing a GLP-1 involves taking a very small amount of a GLP-1 drug, such as Ozempic or Wegovy, typically used to manage type 2 diabetes or support weight loss. These medications slow digestion, curb appetite, and help control blood sugar levels.

According to Today, the Cleveland Clinic cautioned, “there’s a lack of research on the safety of microdosing and how it can benefit your health, and patients shouldn't microdose medication without speaking to a doctor first."
