Angelina Jolie got matching tattoo with teen daughter Vivienne but fans call her 'out of touch'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie revealed that she got a matching tattoo with her 16-year-old daughter, Vivienne.
While the 'Maleficent' actress emphasized the special bond created between her and her teenage daughter through their matching tattoo, netizens pointed out that it's still illegal for minors to get tattoos.
In a new cover story for CR Fashion Book, the 49-year-old actress shared her experience of getting matching tattoos with Vivienne, who has recently dropped her famous father Brad Pitt’s surname.
Angelina Jolie opens up about getting matching tattoos with daughter Vivienne
Angelina Jolie, who has become a tattoo connoisseur in recent years, revealed in the interview that she and her daughter Vivienne got matching tattoos of “Stay Gold” to commemorate their time working together on the Broadway musical ‘The Outsiders,’ per Fox News.
The 'Mr and Mrs Smith' actress first debuted her "Stay Gold" tattoo in April during the red carpet event for the opening night of 'The Outsiders.' Vivienne, who worked alongside her mother in the production, joined her on the red carpet.
Speaking about their ink, Jolie revealed, "I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with ‘The Outsiders,'" before adding, "It means so much to us separately and together."
Jolie proudly displayed her "Stay Gold" tattoo on her left forearm and even posed for a photo on 'The Outsiders' red carpet to showcase it. However, she did not disclose the location of Vivienne’s tattoo.
The tattoo's content pays homage to the musical, as "Stay Gold" is a famous quote from SE Hinton's 1967 book 'The Outsiders,' which inspired the production. Additionally, a song titled 'Stay Gold' features in the musical's script.
The quote “Stay Gold” refers to a verse from Robert Frost’s poem 'Nothing Gold Can Stay.'
In the interview, the 'The Tourist' actress revealed that she also shares a matching bird tattoo with one of her children, although she did not disclose which child has the matching ink.
The Oscar-winning actress gushed about getting matching tattoos with her children, stating that the ink is "personal to us."
The actress shares six children—Maddox, 23; Pax, 20; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and twins Vivienne and Knox—with her ex, Brad Pitt.
Angelina Jolie faces backlash for allowing her teen daughter to get a tattoo
While Angelina Jolie expressed her joy about the special bond with Vivienne through their matching tattoo, netizens were not impressed by the fact that her teenage daughter got inked.
One of the social media users said, "It is not legal in CA or NYC for someone under the age of 18 to get a tattoo; even with parental consent. I guess the law doesn't apply to her. She needs to stop bragging about doing illegal stuff."

"Her daughter is 14 what is she doing getting her a tattoo that's not legal," said someone else.
