LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Anna Delvey, the infamous convicted con artist, made a dramatic and blunt exit from 'Dancing with the Stars' during the elimination of Tuesday, September 24, night.

After being asked by host Julianne Hough what she was taking away from her experience on the show, Delvey’s one-word reply left both her pro partner, Ezra Sosa, and the audience shocked, as reported by People.

Anna Delvey's reply to that question was "Nothing". Ezra Sosa, clearly caught off guard by the response, raised his eyebrows in surprise.

Meanwhile, Julianne Hough quickly laughed off the remark, moving the episode toward its conclusion as fellow contestants, including pro Alan Bersten and contestant Dwight Howard, bid Delvey and Sosa goodbye with hugs.

Delvey, who gained infamy for her elaborate scams while posing as a wealthy German heiress, entered 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 33 under the watchful eyes of both fans and critics. Many questioned her inclusion on the show, given her criminal past.

Despite the backlash, Delvey leaned into her notoriety, even wearing a bedazzled ankle monitor — a condition of her release from ICE detention. She remains under house arrest in New York City while fighting her deportation case.

Her time on the show was marked by controversy, but also by the complexity of her public persona. Sosa, who became a fan favorite after being promoted to pro dancer this season, expressed disappointment over the negativity Delvey faced.

In a TikTok shared on Monday, Sosa revealed that Delvey was deeply affected by the harsh comments she received after her debut episode.

“On my end, I was feeling so much positivity,” he said. “On my partner's end, she wasn't receiving the same. I think the hardest part of my day after (the) press line, she was reading the comments and we couldn't find her. They finally found her in the bathroom. She was crying. I've never seen her like that, and it broke my heart.”

For their final performance, Delvey and Sosa delivered a quickstep to KT Tunstall’s 'Suddenly I See,' with choreography that cheekily referenced Delvey’s famously detached demeanor.

Sosa even lifted the corners of Delvey’s mouth during the dance, playfully forcing a smile. Actress Julia Fox, a friend of Delvey, also appeared during the episode to defend Delvey’s tough exterior, explaining it as a defense mechanism.

Anna Delvey's surprising one-word response to her elimination from 'Dancing with the Stars' not only left her partner Ezra Sosa stunned but also reignited a wave of backlash on online platforms.

Delvey, known for her criminal history as a convicted con artist, has been a polarizing figure since her controversial casting on the show, with many viewers questioning her presence on the popular competition series.

In response to her abrupt exit, one user wrote, "Anna Delvey isn't a victim. She's a convicted felon. If she felt it should've been a smooth redemption arc, she deserved to learn the hard way. No sympathy for her- the booking was a mistake the first place."

Another wrote, "Delvey is a con artist who is a convicted felon. She never have been invited to dance on DWS and DWS should be ashamed it invited her."

The conversation also extended to 'DWTS' itself, with viewers questioning the show's motives for casting Delvey.

"The criticism has to go to 'DWTS'. Clearly, the show needs her more than she needs to be on it. Her controversial history is being used to boost ratings," one user commented.

Another said, "She’s not a star by any stretch of the word."

Fans also highlighted concerns over normalizing criminal behavior on mainstream television. "What’s next? Emptying the prisons for talented dancers? Will Sam Bankman-Fried be on next season?" a viewer quipped.

One person wrote, "Dear Ezra, you seem like a nice enough guy, but don’t you get it? You’re being manipulated by a conwoman who’s defrauded more people than we know about."
