Man who shot dead Texas attorney at McDonald's over refund was out on bond after assaulting relative

HOUSTON, TEXAS: Houston police are on the hunt for a McDonald's customer accused of fatally shooting an attorney after a dispute at the fast-food establishment. After an extensive search, authorities identified Anthony Martin Landry, 46, and charged with murder in connection to the death of Jeffrey Limmer, 46.
Court records from Harris County indicate that Landry had been released on bond after being arrested in February for aggravated assault, allegedly involving hitting a family member with a cane.

The tragic shooting that killed Jeffrey Limmer occurred on May 4 at the McDonald's at 8147 Katy Freeway as per Law&Crime. Cops found Limmer unresponsive, and paramedics later pronounced him deceased. Accused Anthony Martin Landry fled the scene in an early 2000s blue Ford pickup truck.
Landry got upset because he didn't get a refund. He argued with the restaurant workers. Limmer, who was also there, tried to help resulting in an altercation. Landry reportedly brandished a firearm, firing multiple shots at Limmer. Houston police obtained a warrant for Landry's arrest on May 9.
Family says Jeffrey Limmer died doing a brave act
Jeffrey Limmer worked as an associate at the Houston office of Lewis Brisbois, specializing in personal injury and insurance law. He pursued his education at South Texas College of Law and the University of Texas at Austin. His biography also highlighted his love for outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, skiing, biking, and running.
According to his sister Jennifer Thomas, it was typical of her brother to try and calm down in tense situations.
She explained, "Knowing Jeff, he’s the one who always says, ‘Calm down. It’s not that big of a deal,’ and divert the situation, He’s always wanted to fight for the little guy and do the right thing."
Thomas mentioned that Limmer lived close to McDonald's and often visited there, "He loved fiercely his family and friends, Always laughing, making jokes, and just loving life."
Limmer's friend, Greg Monteverde, claimed, "Utilizing cuss words and other profanities, Jeff stepped in to try and de-escalate the situation try and calm him down."
He added, "I thought it was brave. I respect it. I think a lot of us knew Jeff to be that type of individual. In school, he would invite somebody who wasn't the most popular student to a party or things like that."
He concluded, "He's in Heaven. He's looking down on all of us, saying it's going to be OK."
