Anthony Scaramucci claims Donald Trump lied during CNN debate, advises Joe Biden to be 'relentless'
WASHINGTON, DC: Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci has publicly criticized Donald Trump, accusing him of lying “every 100 seconds” on the first live presidential debate hosted by CNN on June 27.
Scaramucci’s remarks came during an appearance on CNN with Kaitlin Collins on Friday, June 28.
Anthony Scaramucci doubles down on problem with Donald Trump and Joe Biden’s debate
Speaking about his recent book ‘From Wall Street to the White House and Back’ and reacting to the debate, Scaramucci said, "Well, he told a lie every 100 seconds if you like factored in everything, but the … problem with Trump’s performance was a split screen."
“And so, whoever prepped President Biden didn’t explain to him that he had to be alert and look right into the barrel of that camera and he looked very distracted,” he continued.
“He looked a little off and so no matter what Trump was saying, I think most people were focused on the physical features of what was going on, on the other side of the split screen,” the financier added.
Anthony Scaramucci's book includes Donald Trump's 30,450 lies during the presidency
The content of his new book includes a tally of Trump’s frequent false statements and he has counted over 30, 450 lies from the vice president during his term, according to The Hill.
“He’s going to lie. I mean, the … question now is, Joe Biden is staying in the race, I get that, so, now what is going to be the positioning of Joe Biden and how are you going to prove to the American public that Joe Biden’s up for the job,” he said.
Advising that Biden needs to be “relentless,” Scaramucci said the 81-year-old politician should “get on the offense as quickly as possible.”
“He did a good job today, but he’s got to build on that over the next coming weeks to let the American people know that he can do this job,” the pundit told Collins.
Democratic concerns over Joe Biden’s debate performance
Biden’s weak debate performance has sparked concerns within the Democratic party.
Some members have even called for the president to quit the race and let another candidate run against Trump.
Despite these calls, the White House and Biden’s campaign team have dismissed the idea, signaling that Biden is committed to his re-election bid.
On Friday, June 28, Biden made a campaign stop in North Carolina, delivering a more energetic speech aimed at calming the concern within his party following the rough debate performance in Atlanta.
