LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pushed Nevada voters to reelect President Joe Biden in November, deeming him the protector of abortion rights and warning about the dangers former President Donald Trump could pose on abortion access if he returns to office.

Speaking at an indoor rally in Fremont Country Club, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday, June 20, the New York lawmaker blamed the 45th president for the overturning of Roe v Wade as she campaigned for Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, as per Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The conservative justices Trump appointed to the Supreme Court resulted in the overturning of Roe v Wade in 2022, giving individual states the right to implement abortion laws. Since then, many Republican-led states either banned or implemented severe restrictions on the procedure.

Ocasio-Cortez cautioned Nevada voters, "If he wins in November, you better believe Donald Trump and a Republican Congress will pass a nationwide abortion ban. That enough is an enormous reason why it is crucial that we reelect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris."

In April, the MAGA spearhead declined to endorse a nationwide abortion ban and left the rights to individual states.

Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt dismissed the New York congresswoman's argument, stating the former POTUS has "long been consistent" backing states' right to decide on abortion.

Republican National Committee Nevada spokesperson Halee Dobbins also insisted Democrats focus on "real issues caused by failed Joe Biden" instead of "grandstanding in Las Vegas" on something the Silver State voters already decided on.

According to state law, anyone in Nevada has the right to abortion within the first 24 weeks of pregnancy.

While campaigning for Biden-Harris, the New York legislator also said, "The next battleground is November. It's Nevada. It's defeating Donald Trump and electing [sic] Joe Biden and Kamala Harris," according to the New York Post.

Ocasio-Cortez asserted that she was a "Planned Parenthood baby" because her mother decided to continue the pregnancy after an ultrasound. "But it was her choice, not a lobbyist's and not a politician's," asserted the "Squad" member.

Access to abortion being a focal point of the Biden-Trump rematch in November, the incumbent has promised to reinstate Roe v Wade if elected for a second term.

Internet slams Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as she urges Nevada voters to pick Joe Biden over Donald Trump

Netizens weren't keen on Ocasio-Cortez's remarks from the Fremont Country Club event.

One said, "Classic Democrat campaign move: Preach fear . . . And she really does it best," and another remarked, "@AOC you know the Supreme Court has interpreted the law and concluded it’s a State issue. This is a non-topic for the Federal/Presidential election. If anything could’ve been done Biden should’ve done something the last 2.5 years but hasn’t. Stop gaslighting Americans."

A person stated, "It’s up to the states, not President Trump. Take it up with your state government," while someone else argued, "I can’t speak for all of NV, but we are a red state and this is a state issue. Personally nothing she says interest me, she can’t even run her own district correctly. Stay out of our business."

"She doesn’t understand how American law works and that we ratified access to abortion here over 30 years ago," fumed an individual.

"Why is she in NV? Seriously? Try showing up in your own city," said one more, whereas another person noted, "The people of New York City should be up in arms. Your representative is everywhere else except for your city helping you."

"The president has nothing to do with state law....the fear mongering is gross," commented another naysayer.
